We're going next Monday (I'm so excited!). The dates in the brochure came out on the 2nd/3rd of November last year.0

It's coming up at £9 and there doesn't seem to be any method of payment that avoids it! :eek:0 -

well it doesn't hurt to look at the offers when they first come out - don't go by the brochure price though, as Disney have regular discount offers through the year.0

You can do it online via Quidco and get 6% cashback - which pays the supplement for you plus a little more, or you can call them and then there is no charge. I never got charged for paying over the phone with credit Card. I made 2 payments too, a deposit and then a payment 60 days before we was due to travel autotatically charged to the card. You cannot do that online either.0 -
we are hoping to go next year around may, june time. thomas cook said that to come in about 11 months in advance when the dates become avilable. is this right?? they say its because the flights (air france) will be cheaper that way. Are dates aviable that far in advance. i was told by 2 of there staff members
Book it yourself, it'll be cheaper with paying for hotel and flights seperately.0 -

No, they'll be more expensive because it'll only be brochure price. DLP have offers on themselves all the time. Sign up to their site and get special offers. As long as you are not going at a very busy time there will always be rooms available.
Also keep an eye on expedia as they will sometimes be the same special offer price as DLP prices and you can get 12% cashback on hotel bookings.0 -
if i can book with disney before the dates are available on eurostar do you wtill advise boking seperate or will it depend on wether the current offer includes transport?0

We had the same dilemma in January when the 30% offer was on, in the end the only person at Disney that would give us a price on Eurostar quoted nearly £900 for the 5 of us. We waited and booked ES seperately, it still cost us £453 because our holiday spans the August bank holiday Monday, but a good savinganyway, particularly as the price is now over £760.
Some tips try doing dummy booking for 6 months ahead regardless of when you want to go, this will give you a rough idea of the prices on different days - Tuesdays and Saturdays tend to be cheapest, Monday morning and Friday evening more expensive. The cheapest direct returns seem to be £69 return for an adult, £59 for a youth(12-16) and £44 for child, so for us it would have been £300 for all of us at the cheapest times, but the Friday eve was only released at the mid price tickets costing £278 instead of £150 for all of us (grr!)
The most important thing to remember is to book as early as possible, seats are released online 6 months before date of travel and when all seats at the lowest value are sold the price goes up and up. HOWEVER dates are released earlier on the phone (check number on say-no-to-0870 I can't remember it offhand) and they will also reserve your outbound seats while they wait for the return dates. Also if the dates aren't available when you phone, they will take your number and call you back when they are - some of the best customer service I have ever received, thanks Jess and Carol!
The next thing to remember is that if you book with Disney you can't choose your seats, so they could end up being in different places. If travelling standard class, carriages 9 and 14 have power points, are next to the buffet cars and are apparently nearest the steps at Disney. There is a seating plan on the website, so that you can see which seats are near windows, face forward, have a table, are near the toilets etc.
You should then be able to decide whether the Disney price is a good deal (remember if you book ES with Disney you get the Disney Express thrown in if you want to use this - otherwise it's £16 for each adult to add on) or whether you are best waiting and booking direct, although I have to say I had more than a few sleepless nights knowing I had booked accommodation but didn't have any transport! Still a £400+ saving and the peace of mind in knowing I knew which seats we have is worth all the worrying.0 -
thanks for the informative response, were planning on doing monday to wednesday, the wed comes up alot cheaper but we can get the 6 of us for quite a good price. were also going at the end of march so its term time and hopefully will be quieter then but not too cold.
ill keep my eye on both dlp and es and just check the pricing when they come out, someone said it will be maybe next month or june when the next dates are available with disney so im keeping a close eye on it, just waiting to see what the next offer is now.
thanks for the help0
