We are thinking about going to DLP next July, it would be our first visit to France and will probably fly as we are in Scotland. There will be 5 adults and 2 children (3 and 4). I think to make the most of the holiday we would stay for 1 week and spend a few days at the park and the rest sight seeing. The hotels in disney and paris seem expensive as we would need 3 rooms so wondered if anyone could recommend a website to book a cottage/house/apartment and where would be the best area to stay in. I am totally lost with all the info available, is Paris a good base and is it easy to get to disney? or would somewhere near disney be better? Any help would be much appreciated as I would like to get something booked soon and then we can start saving.

We are looking to go to dlp in Summer 2011! As a family of 2 adults and 3 chilldren which are the best value hotels for this size family? I checked out Eurostar for travel, but it would not let me book from Leeds!

Hi I'm off next week!!!!! 2 adults 3 children. It was cheaper for us to book 2 rooms at sequioa lodge, rather than one room at Newport Hotel or Thomas Cooks Explorers. We booked with the 40% offer.
When I booked the holiday on the phone direct with Disneyland the sales person said he would request a joining room. I will let you know when I get back if we had one. HTH :j

    Pushing, brings back memories.
I actually finished up telling my kids to stop being so polite.
There is a "disney elbow" - you have to walk with your elbows out to stop people pushing past, or crowding too close.

I know, if you go when its busy you almost have to leave your manners at home to have any chance of seeing anything! :p

As people will literally push you out of their way, last time i went, i found the best thing to do was to go back to the hotel for a couple of hours in the afternoon, to get away from them all for a bit, this seemed to refresh my tolerance a little.

Hi lovely moneysavers, taking young family (3, 5, 8) to DLP with hubby. Going SC in cheapest, Davy Crocket. Any tips on saving money with food or gifts really appreciated. Genuinely laughed out load when i saw posts about pocketing buffet breakfast! Can you take snacks into park?

with the euro rate at the moment, if staying at davy crockett i would take as much food with me from the UK, and only buy the minimal fresh stuff as needed whilst out there

yes you can take your own food into the park. DLRP is more lax about this than the US parks (where they confiscate everything)

Am I the only one in the world who can't book through the DisneyLand Paris website - it won't allow me to choose my holiday dates - the calendar is blacked out for July and then when you try to move ahead it goes to 1900. I have tried to type in manually and it won't let me!

Are you trying to book for July 2011? Those dates haven't been released yet.

No I want to book for November 2010 but can't get the calendar to go past July 2010 (well maybe I could if I were prepared to go through every month from 1900 to 2010!!!!)
