i know, its gonna be fun with a 5 year old and a 11 year old. we plan on driving through the night its about 4 hrs from ours to dover, then ferry at 6am so get to spend most of the first day at the park.
ive read that u need to alter your headlights and have to take extra things with you like high vis vests incase of an accident.
we've done it several times with kids of similar age, if u have dvd players its a great help!
there are a few places to stop and grab a drink and freshen up. we found a good place about 1hr after leaving calais.
not sure about headlights, but we took hi vis vests with us. U can get them cheap from halfords. Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

You need "beam benders" - they adapt your beams so you don't dazzle oncoming traffic. You'll also need a first aid kit, warning triangle, and spare bulbs. Have a good trip.Only dead fish go with the flow...0

...and don't forget you need to keep the Hi-Vis vest INSIDE the car (you must be able to put it on without leaving the car)....you can get these for £1 at Poundland (Halfords can't match that price).Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -
were driving from calais, does any1 have any tips for driving in france
Just watch your speed and keep to the speed limits - the limits are slightly lower if it is raining/poor visibility.
If you are at a peage (toll booth) some lanes have payment windows on the left or the right hand side, I go for the left hand side ones (so the payment is on the passengers side in a UK right hand drive car) and get the wife to pay(!) and she uses her credit card, takes about 10 seconds and no fumbling for foreign coins.
Apart from that, driving on French motorways is brilliant, very courteous driving, fairly empty roads but can be fairly boring as it is mostly fields as far as the eyes can see.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Please could anyone please confirm whether it is true that bag checks are performed in the Disney parks? A friend of mine said that they check bags for food bought anywhere but the parks so picnics are not allowed.
Although I'm not planning on picnicking in February (we go in 2 weeks) I was planning on taking drinks and snacks in with us just to save on the extortionate prices of snacks there.0 -

Yes they do bag checks prior to entry to the park. Although i can't confirm if they are looking for food, i always thought is was for weapons and such...0 -

i thought they might do random checks but there are loads of people who have said that they take made up rolls and snacks in so i wouldnt of thoght that it would of been too much of a problem.
