    I'm packing today, we're on the 7.35am flight! :j

I'm a bit worried about money and also about it being so windy! lol

I'm so disorganised I feel like I'm going to forget something.
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D

  • Have a lovely time I am sure even if its windy, you wont notice it as you will be too busy having a fantastic time.

I booked Eurostar in the end, would you believe the flights went up last night as I was looking, also then got in a bit of a panic as there maybe a credit crunch blah blah but the Eurostar was selling out in front of my eyes, in the end all the dates I wanted in the school hols were not available, so ended up booking the weekend - I know mad, school hols and a weekend, but I am stuff with the dates I could go on. Got direct Eurostar there and back and was able to select which carriage and seats we wanted - so picked one with a table, which was £301.00 but the Santa fe and park tickets were cheaper at the weekend £217.00, this way we get to leave the luggage at the station and get straight into the parks at midday, then check into hotel late before grabbing something to eat, early night and up early for a full day in the parks on the Sunday, train pulls out 8.15pm and from what I remember last time, its basically a case of passport control and get straight on the train, no waiting around in a departure lounge. Time to start counting down now oh and looking for thermals, snow suits and boots lol.

Hi everyone, I did a search but couldn't find what I wanted to know. I have a daughter who's just turned 4. We've just started thinking about booking our summer hols and are considering Disneyland Paris as it's also my 40th birthday this year

We know nothing about it yet (I haven't even looked at a brochure) and I don't know anyone else who has been, so any advice appreciated. Should we book direct or through a travel agent? Where is the best place to stay? It will have to be in the school summer holidays as she's at a brilliant nursery school so we don't want to take her out of school unless we have to.

I did notice on the official Disneyland site that my daughter would get free accommodation and travel as she's under 7. She would be 4 and a half when/if we go, would there be things for her to do or would she be too young for it? Thanks very much!

Minerva, last year I walked into a travel agent and got a quote. 3 nights at a mediocre sounding hotel (Kyriad I think) for 2 adults and 2 children : £1800. They said there was very limited Eurostar availability at that time. The next day I looked on Expedia and for the same week booked a very good hotel for 4 nights + Eurostar for about £500. Definitely worth looking at all options!

On that occasion we went to The Dream Castle and would highly recommend it. http://www.dreamcastle-hotel.com
Not a Disney hotel but still has nice subtle theming and is very easy to get to the parks

In Oct we also went to http://www.homebusiness.fr/uk08/paris.html which is very nicely done new hotel and excellent as a self catering option as the 'apartments' have a full kitchen with fridge/dishwasher/hob/microwave etc. However you really need a car to get to the parks from here as the shuttle bus service was very limited.
  • It depends how long you want to go for, as for me one or two nights then the santa fe (most basic disney hotel) is more than enough, after all its somewhere to shower, change and sleep, we spent no more time in the hotel than this last time oh and to have breakfast. Id rather have more money to spend in the parks than on the hotel. However seeing that you are looking at summer hols, maybe the Newport Bay would be nice as it has an outside swimming pool. Last time I went through leisure direction online, which wasnt a cheaper option for booking this time, my advice is to really play around on the net, I have spent hours the last couple of days, pricing up different Eurostar days/times, then the flying option which worked out even cheaper believe it or not. I love all the working out the best deal for us when looking for a holiday, I think its all part of the fun lol. Then booked the hotel through disney online (the hotels include the park tickets which can work out more buying them seperately). Anyway this is just my experience, I am sure others have more advice to offer. Oh and the Eurostar goes into the station which is right by the gates of Disney.

My son was 4 the end of Nov, he was 15 months last time we went as my other children were 9 and 13 so we went for more of their benefit then.

Hope someone can answer a few questions I have? We are hoping to go to DLP at the end of MArch for 4 days. I checked the park opening times ( we would be going Tuesday to Thursday and hopefully it will be a bit quieter then!) and it shuts at 6 each night with the Studios shutting at 7. Does that mean there would not be a parade /fireworks on - doesnt really mention it in the brochure/site so was hoping someone here could help. Also is it really cold still at the end of MArch - been checking the forecast the last few days and it is freezing there just now.

    Thanks
No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

I stayed in the dream caslte and highly recommend it, it was lovely !

My dd went at 2 and 2.5 and both times there was plenty for her to do, there were loads of rides for her in fantasyland and the meet and greets she loved, she also the parade and character express and would chase the characters as they got off the train just like the older children, Shes nearly 3 and keeps asking to go back so I think your 4 year old would love it!
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.
