thanks balletshoes.
not expecting Alton Towers was just trying to compare the size/walking distance around the parks.
we have not been to any of the Disney Parks in the past so this is a new experience for us.
I am sure we will enjoy thanks again
You can walk from top to bottom, or one side to the other, of either park at DLP in about 15 minutes - but it differs a lot to Alton Towers in that theres very little open space in either park, so in that 15 minutes walk across the park you may be passing a dozen shops (all differently themed) 5 or 6 rides, 10 restaurants, and 3 or 4 attractions.0 -

Its unlikely to get any cheaper than that for a half-term price.
Santa Fe is much better than Cheyenne (or will be by Feb 2016 because the Santa Fe has been completely refurbed and the Cheyenne is beginning to need it, and won't be refurbed until after you go, as the Hotel New York is next on the list for a full refurb once they have finished the Newport Bay Club).
Eurostar, if you get your fares booked as soon the prices come out, can be as little as £79 return per adult, £50 return per child, and under-4s go free.
Booked it. 15 months to go!!0 -
Hello just looking for some advice on the prices for June 2015?
We went to DLP back in June 2011 2 ad 3ch stayed at Davy Crockett got breakfast included booked through thomas cook travel agents instore and it came in at under £700.
I am now considering booking for next June 2015 and thought I would have a go at booking myself but prices are coming in at £1500 for 5 nights 28th June- 3rd july? Again Davy crockett but am I right in thinking this no longer includes breakfast?
Kids are 7,9 & 11 now does this change the prices?
Also when we went in 2011 there were no fireworks at night is that a summer thing, do they stop over certain periods?0 -
balletshoes wrote: »when are your easter holidays? as long as you avoid easter weekend itself, and your easter holidays don't clash with the French school holidays, and you go midweek, you should find it pretty decent for crowd levels. We went this year at the start of April, just before the French kids started their school holidays, and it was fine, I'd go again at that time, lovely weather too
.
eta - heres the link for the French school holidays, they don't start until 11th April next year -

Balletshoes, it seems that part of our group wont be able to take time off during the Easter holidays so that has put paid to going then.
Another alternative would be next November. Son would then just have started college so could have some days off. Questions are. Do you know when the offers for then would be online. I assume, (maybe wrongly) that the half board offers would be on? They seem to go from November until March. Is November fairly quiet or a lot busier than say March, and when does it start becoming Xmassy.
Only ever been during March so this may be great alternative, especially as I would love to go if a Xmas feel to the place.
Thanks again for your advice.0 -
Hi guys,
I'm just after a bit of advice please. We are due to go to DLP Tuesday 2nd December - Friday 5th December. There will be myself, OH and 2 children aged 4 & 2.
We are staying at the Sante Fe hotel and have bed & breakfast.
Reason for my post is that I’m concerned about the cost of the other meals. My partner went to DLP 3 years ago for a cheerleading competition and said the cost of meals was not expensive but people at work and friends and family who have been recently are saying otherwise. Has the cost of meals gone up in this time and would we better booking one of the meal plans?0 -

thats right, breakfast is no longer included at the DCR unless you have a half board meal plan included in the price.

yes, unfortunately none of your kids are free at DLP now, because they are all aged 7 or over. There are cheaper ways of booking an onsite stay for DLP - for example, how much is one adult for your dates at the DCR? And what kind of offer are you getting on your 5-night stay? A percentage discount? Free half board? Free nights?
Dreams show has replaced the fireworks, Dreams happens every night at park closing time, and is an amazing lazer/waterfountain/music/projection/low-level fireworks show on the Castle itself.0 -

never assume- free half board actually came out for just about all of this year, between one offer and another.
If you can do midweek November and are fairly flexible with your dates, and are willing to wait, you could get a brilliant 50% off for that time of year for your onsite hotel package (I have booked to go this winter on the flash sale, it came out at the very end of September, on the Belgian DLP site, and I snapped it up).

November is amazingly quiet midweek, every time I've been in November (after 11th, thats Armistice day and a big public holiday in France) its been quieter than both my February and March midweek trips. The parks are stunningly beautiful, all decorated like a winter wonderland, they run extra shows, parades and surprises, its my favourite season of all to go to DLP (can you tell I'm just a little happy and excited to be going this year)?

no the cost of meals at DLP hasn't gone up in the last 3 years, and no, don't book a meal plan.
Have a look at DLPguide.com, they have a very good restaurant menu/prices section, so you can get an idea of which places would suit you. There are cheap ways of doing Cafe Mickey for lunch or dinner, there are reasonable set menus at Annettes, the Village restaurants often have early dinner/late lunch specials, and of course there are many counter service restaurants all over the resort to fuel up in.0 -
