That is a blow - why the decision I wonder, cost perhaps? I'm sure the little ones used to love seeing them in the hotels, takes away a bit of the magic in my book! Shame on you!
it seems to be for several reasons - but onsite hotels guests will get to see the characters in the park during EMH instead of at the hotels. At the moment the characters don't start coming out in the parks until after 10am.0 -
Ourselves and sone friends have booked to go at the end of July (arriving Monday afternoon, Departing Friday morning) and were thinking of getting Annual passes for the whole party (5 adults and 4 children, all under 11).
Is there any way of getting discounted Annual passes? I recall someone saying they bought some off ebay?
thanks
the discounted ebay temporary kids passes are fine, as they are temporary ones (ie not photo laminated yet), which you then change to permanent photo ID ones at DLP.
I don't know of any discounted adult APs though.
One thing - of your party, how many are the same family, resident at the same UK address?0 -

If you're going for the whole week is there any particular reason you don't want to just take your car with you from the UK and drive over, using the Eurotunnel? That way all your travel, including crossing, fuel and tolls would come to less than £300.
In February, 4 nights and 4 or 5 days at DLP will be more than enough.
I was thinking the tunnel would cost more than that as we would have to probably stop over near the tunnel the evening before as I don't think kids could do journey all way down there from Yorkshire and then over to hotel, I have no idea how long that would take??
Was also wanting to take in some of the sites in Paris as I will probably never get to go back xMummy to two beautiful girls and one gorgeous boy.0 -

if you fly and then hire a car, thats going to cost the best part of £800, right?
The tunnel, even including a hotel for you on your way there, and on the way home, should only be about half that cost, if you take your own car.
it looks like it takes around 4 hours to drive from North Yorkshire to Folkestone, then you are around 3 hours once off the Eurotunnel at Calais, to DLP.0 -
We go next week :-)
A couple of questions
Is the water safe to drink?
Should we tip if so how much?
Is there plenty tea, coffee and milk in the room (we drink lots of tea and coffee)
Can I take a stainless steel flask into the park?
Good places to eat, any we should avoid? We are breakfast only.
Thanks, I'm so excited and my 2 boys still don't know we are going!!wouldn't it be nice if i won : car/cash/family holiday

yes

only for very good service, its not usual to tip housekeeping or in restaurants unless for very good service in France, and even then only round up to the nearest 5 euros of the bill - theres no need to tip 10% or anything like that.

no, there is nothing like that in the onsite rooms provided in the standard rooms, you have to pay for that, so take your own.

just avoid anything counter service at normal mealtimes (ie 12 til 2pm) as its so slow-moving you'll lose the will to live before getting your food .0 -
Is it hard to get to VAL d'europe from Disneyland and is it worth a look? Are the trains easy enough to manage and pay for?wouldn't it be nice if i won : car/cash/family holiday

the trains are really easy - there are both ticket machines and a manned ticket booth at DLP station, val d'europe is one stop away (jump on any train to get there as DLP is the end of the line). I've never left the DLP bubble to get to val d'europe so I can't say what the supermarket, shopping mall etc is like there.0 -

Trains are easy as balletshoes stated, cost us just under 15 Euros (return) in April for four of us. The shops we visit there include a supermarket called Auchan and sells just about everything, there is a large toy store on the lower floor (can't recall the name), Micromania (a bit like Game/Gamestation) and Sante pharmacy. Lots of clothes shops and food outlets as you would expect, in all, quite a few shops to look around."Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it": Ferris Bueller

The channel tunnel will cost around £100-£110 if returning within 5 days, but increases if you stay longer. We live in Derbyshire, it takes us at least 3 and a half hours to get to the tunnel by car as we inevitably hit roadworks that slow us down, almost always on the M25, plus there is nearly always a queue to pay the road toll for the Dartford Crossing. To break up the journey, we stay at Premier Inn, Ashford North usually, if we book early enough it costs £29 per night for a family room. It's about 20 mins drive from the tunnel. As said, it is around 3 hours from Calais to DLP."Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it": Ferris Bueller
