Hi everyone, just a quick question. After a pretty rotten year we are hoping to go to Disney in December, pretty flexible with dates, ideally stay on site and would probably take the car through the tunnel. It would be 2 adults and a 3 year old, is there a time to look out for the best discounts for the run up to the Christmas period?

absolutely :D - because you are driving and are flexible with your dates, hang off until around the beginning of October to book - as that tends to be when the flash sale 50% off offers come out for November and December dates.

OK cool, thank you. I shall try and resist booking until then! Does availability stay pretty open on the shuttle?

on the eurotunnel? yes, you should have no problem booking a couple of months ahead of your trip for november/december, especially midweek.

Yes I meant eurotunnel, that's great will hold off until October. Thanks for the advice. It's handy not having to stick to the school holidays and having flexible jobs, hopefully we can get a bargain.

it will be ages before the French site has dates for June 15 - possibly not until the start of next year (they don't release the French dates as early as the UK site).

not sure about the Eurostar - I'd just keep checking the website for that as the direct fares come out in blocks, sometimes as early as 10 months prior to travel.

are the french prices usually much cheaper than uk usually? will have to work out whether to book via uk site, or wait for french site prices.

it depends what offer the UK has, compared to the French offer when it comes out. It also depends on the composition of your family group, as to which offer might be best for you.

What I will say is, for this year, the full price on the French site for spring/early summer dates was much less than the full price on the UK site for the same dates. So even though the French offer was say 35% off and kids under 7 free, it worked out as less than half the price of the UK full price.
