    Hi,

we are planning a four days trip to paris, in which we hope to cover the Disney parks in the first two days and then travel to Pau from there on the third day to meet our friends and then return to London.

The trip is planned for the 22nd may and return on sunday the 25th evening just before the Monday bank holiday.

Would really appreciate advise on transport and accommodation, we have a 6 year old with us. Balletshoes appears to be a wealth of information in this area, the accommodation between DLP and Paris seems a quite decent idea to get good deals on hotels and at the same time be nearer to the local transport, but does the local trains run 24 hours?

no they don't run 24 hours - but they do run from around 6am until just after midnight every day.

I think the French website idea is brilliant a well, using chrome, just tried it and prk tickets turns out be 404 euros for two days but maybe as suggested I should just go for the hopper ticket for the second day, is this some thing that can be done online?

yes, most discount tickets for DLP are ordered online in advance - for May I'd suggest waiting until around the middle/end of April to see whats out there for your dates.

Just as a comparison, the UK website for those days (3 days / 2 nites) inicl. park tickets is ~£550 where a the French website doesn't allow me to book for that period now for some reason, is this normal?

for hotel/park tickets packages you need to be looking at France l'autres region, not france isle de france, on the French version of the official DLP site. For your 2 nights/3 days, including park tickets for the 3 of you, the price on the French site for the Santa Fe or Cheyenne is 538 euros total (around £455 - which is a good price if you would use the 3 days park access).

Also please advise on the final leg of the tour, travel from paris to pau and then from pau to London.

All comments / suggestions will be greatly received with sincere thanks.

    P

sorry i can't help with the travel in France, how are you getting to DLP? If its suitable, you could do the Eurostar from London to DLP, then from Paris back to London. You'd just book them as 2 single journeys rather than one return.
  • Hi

Im going to Disneyland next weekend (Cant Wait!), and have got a few last minute things to sort out.

Does anyone know what time the Park closes on Sundays? For next Sunday? and what time it closes on week days?

Also how much is the Toll Charge, as we are driving

    Thanks in advance

We went last week. Had a fabulous time, but some observations comments and queries below:

    * the food is dire and very expensive, especially if you're vegetarian. The esteemed "Earl of Sandwich" does NO vegetarian sandwiches. We were averaging about €60 for a meal with drinks for 2 adults and 1 3 year old.

    * lots of the best rides were closed for maintenance. We lived happily without them this time, but I'd be upset if the same rides were closed next time we go. Anyone know if they have a rolling cycle that makes that likely?

    * extra magic hours well worth doing. Rides were so quiet we stayed on for 2 or more goes!

    * the princess pavillion is a joke. Even if you start queuing at 9:20am (it doesn't open until 10:30am) it will take you about 2 hours to see a princess (for about 5 mins). Just glad it was a princess DD loved as I couldn't have handled doing it again!

    * the Santa Fe was pretty good, but breakfast was horrific. So much so that we upgraded to the cafe mickey breakfast instead one day, which was well worth doing despite the €16 each extra charge. On the other days I braved it at 7am and brought it all away with me. Bought coffee at Starbucks in the village at 8am and had breakfast/lunch in the park instead.

    * VEA transfers worked well for our party (6 adults, 4 3 and unders).

    * saw "dreams" and the park parade twice each and the studios parade once too. Well worth doing. Our littlies were dressed up and got a lot of attention from the characters.

    * will take anti-bac gel and use it religiously next time - 7/10 of the party picked up a nasty tummy bug which struck as we were leaving (much fun on the plane _pale_).

the park hours for April are all available on either DLRPMagic or the official DLP site calendars :).

I don't know the current toll charges, sorry.

Don't Earl of Sandwich make sandwiches of your choice, if theres nothing on the board menus which suit?

January to March is main refurb season at DLP every year. At other times of the year there may be one or 2 rides down for refurb, and some may be open at set times of the day. In high season typically everything is open.

    * extra magic hours well worth doing. Rides were so quiet we stayed on for 2 or more goes!

I agree - I've never been in the Princess Pavilion and have no intention of doing so. I go to the Studios for my Princess fix these days.

I believe stomach flu is rife around the Paris area at the moment - thats a good tip re the anti-bac gel.

Don't know what was going on at the earl of sandwich but my friend couldn't get a veggie sandwich for love nor money!

I don't understand why the food was so awful. France is supposedly the capital of gastronomy!!

The 8pm closing time was perfect for us, so I don't think we'd want to go after march as it jumps to 9:30pm then.

    Princesses at the studios? Where?!

in the mornings - between 11am and 12.30pm, most of the characters from the Stars n Cars parade come out near Stitch Live and Cinemagique, for meet n greets. This includes Ariel, Mulan, Jasmine and Aladdin, sometimes Snow White (but I believe her car is leaving/has left Cars n Stars?) and then Mary Poppins and Bert, Lilo & Stitch, Remy & Emile, the Villains etc etc.

Mulan wasn't in the parade last week - just Mushu (Mulan is my daughter's favourite). Don't know who Remy and Emile are - don't think they were in there either.

Mary Poppins was in the park parade, not the stars in cars.

Thats odd ~ i wonder if certain cars were having issues the day you saw it? mary and bert and remy and emile (rats) are usually in stars n cars.

Ooh, 3 more tips: wear the comfiest shoes you have, take buggies for any child aged 5 or under and take radix or bath salts - you'll need them at the end of each long, hard day!!
