hi every1, hows things? been trying to catch up a bit on what everyones been upto before i posted. alot of people have paid of their pesky debts which is great! glad were keeping going cos i still wana get some of my holiday balance saved up!
we did car boot saturday-got £50.40! yipee! i had every intention of putting it towards my pesky debt hol balance savings. until oh's aunty came to visit us and we went out for the day and spent the whole lot. plus, we used the current account (should never se this as incomings=outgoings in there) so now left with the dilema of trying to find out where i can get the shortcomings from to put into the bank so that the mortgage still comes out on 31st...
anyway, feel a bit low cos had really nice weekend and sort of put money on back burner and now left to work it all out again. same as everything i let my guard down for a few days-all planning goes out of window and i end up upset day before mortgage due. my own fault i know for allowing it to happen.
just sometimes i get majorly fed up of money and never having any despite both being on good wages, and second incomes. hmm. bit crap isnt it? all those who agree say "i".... :o

We have come a long way you had one good weekend in the past it was probably a constant lot of luxuries etc that didn't mean much at the time because it was so often!

One once in a while is a booster, now you can re-adjust head down and tackle away again, were getting there!
  • Yep I say IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII too! You can't take your eyes off the pennies for a minute!

I've taken over managing our accounts from my hubbie who although well-intentioned would wait until we were up the creek with a teeny paddle to tell me we should cut back. So I spent last week tweaking and honing the budget and it all looked great. We just had to stick to it  Came home from work today to find he'd spent £30 going to the cinema with DS and a friend  and over half of that was sweets etc
I've told him I'm confiscating the Debit card if he doesn't stop it

I feel good now though because I've been fussing about Christmas and where the extra pennies will come from and I stumbled on some wonderful threads on here about making your own gift hampers so I'm inspired and have a long list of little odds and sods to buy for most people and it will look lovely without being pricey - so yay for me! :T

(I have also spent a fortune on postage for eBay today )
Proud to be dealing with my debt!

hmm. i wrote a long reply to this a bit ago and it wouldnt send so i ended up getting mad and closing the whole thing down with the face on. not much patience today im affraid! lol.
anyway, i was trying to say cheers rayday for cheerin me up. at least when weve blown money we shouldnt have it was on a nice family weekend and kids had great time and seeing their little happy faces makes it all worth it doesnt it.

    noggin :o

ew, purple, can you please tell me where you have seen the threads about the gift hampers cos sounds like sumat i wouldnt mind having a dable at myself aswell!!!

    thanks! x
  • Sure noggin... there are tons of them - I've spent about 90 mins trawling them and making lists!! LOL
Here's a good place to start - each post lists a different type of basket/hamper idea http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=4747743#post4747743
Lots of the ideas are from last Christmas by the look of it, so the ideas for where to buy things are a bit out of date, but on the whole there are still loads and loads of great ideas! I've got my nieces, nephews, mom and her hubby and my in-laws sorted! (well in my head- just need to go and do some shopping now but I'm going to store up freebies, cheap buys and ideas and go mad at half term when I'll have time and a bit more cash!)
Proud to be dealing with my debt!
