Ohh! Best of luck to your OH, Tigtag! My OH was made redundant in July and was only paid 1/4 of June's wages as he scratched the work van, so we're sort of in the same boat. Fingers crossed for both of them! x
Goes without saying honey - good luck to Mr Bob ;o)
The extra bit of good news on my OH's interview is that if he gets the job its a 3 week residential training course in Devon so I get some peace an quiet

Please let me know how he gets on

Good luck to all going to interviews and waiting to hear about jobs. So sorry to hear about your cat Alexnikov, my 17-year-old cat had a stroke last year and had to be put down and I still get all teary when I think about him. Hope you feel better soon.
On a lighter note this is a lovely thread for a rainy day, my reasons to be cheerful...
*Off on hols on Thursday - Dublin to visit friends than France for a bit of sun and wine tasting
* Visiting Mam tonight and she's just texted to say she's making a shepherd's pie
* Work is nice and quiet at the mo so surfing the net and listening to the radio
* Car is back from the garage after a veru expensive MOT, which means I don't have to get the bus in the rain
* My poppies will be collapsing in the rain, but at least it's good for the peas
Feel much better now, thanks! xxWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I'm so sorry about your cat.
Another thing to be postive about...
- My 2yr old cat has realised he can catch other animals, so far a sparrow and a frog (both still very much alive!) But he thinks me worthy of his gifts.
- I think I might have duvet evening and get into my PJ's when I get home, that always makes me feel better.
- My severely disabled cousin has learnt to walk!! (her parents were told it would never happen!)
There are good things in the world, and most of them don't relate to money! And I am please about that.Current debt - £16,300

Sorry about your cat, Alex.
Good news is that I will be able to pay off half of the Egg card on Friday when a cheque clears (I can't wait)
I was too tired (or too lazy) to water the dry plants yesterday evening, but it rained all night (and all morning!)
The kids are on holiday so I can spend lots of time with them and they aren't arguing (very much)
We've had a couple of really nice family trips to the park (before it rained today)

What a lovely idea for a thread! :grouphug: (Oh Gawd, I'm hoping that looks like a group hug...)
- We've cleared every single one of our debts and at last have the beginnings of a savings account!
- I banked £185 from my mortgage pig last month (great idea)
- We are both in good health and are recovering 'mentally' after bereavements
- I've just given my 15 years old puss a cuddle after hearing about Alexniko's poor cat
We mustn't take our pets for granted. Mortgage Free as of 03/07/2017 :beer:0 -
On the bright side.....
The rain is good for the garden and it's great fun watching next doors conservatory blokes trying to battle with the fascias in the wind
I've had a NSD - DD's met a friend at the park and ended up going back to theirs for lunch saving me going to the farmers market
I've just finished a really gutty horrible job in the house that I've been putting off for months
I'm just about to start making a lovely picnic spread for tomorrow when we go to Legoland (ty Mr T vouchers) ((weather permitting)) everything will be HM and I know that friends kids will tuck in even though "they never eat it at home"
On the downside - my 28 year old cousin - with 3 kids is being sent home from hospital today - there's nothing more they can do for her as her cancer has grown back to double the size in 2 months. On the upside of that (if there can be one) There'll be an early family christmas (probably in the next few weeks) as she's desperate to see them open the presents that she planned when she knew it was all going wrong.
So I suppose my last - good thing for today - is that my kids and my DH are all happy and healthy and I love them all to bits."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
