I fail to see where the staff were at blame here. Are they not allowed to take a break and do you think it's their job to help you with your suitcases? You had to wait a couple of minutes, are you actually saying you were kept waiting? My definition of kept waiting is far from yours.

Your complaint is nonsense, but others will encourage you so keep the kettle boiling.

Why be so obtuse? This is what amazes me on these forums which are designed to support the consumer yet attracts so many who side with those who are not providing the service which is expected. I don't get it. :(

Staff are allowed to take a break but within proper guidelines but not all together. They obviously knew the couple were too drunk, had probably served them with more alcohol, which is against the law if someone is too intoxicated, were made aware they were bonking in public which is again illegal and failed to respond in a proper and law abiding manner by not acting in accordance with the correct procedure by not calling the police.

Why do you assume that every drop of alcohol they had was consumed at the Travelodge? A Travelodge isn't a prison. Once booking in the guests are allowed to go out to other establishments and drink!

And how do you know the staff didn't call the Police? The op will have no knowledge of this unless they ask which they obviously haven't otherwise it would have no doubt been mentioned.

I didn't say every drop of poison was served to these !!!!heads at the hotel. What I did say was it is illegal to serve !!!!heads any more alcohol if they are too intoxicated already.

Probably - basically meaning I don't know, I've no idea I'm just going to guess and make things up to suit my own argument!

I certainly would complain to the company and I'd also put it on trip advisor.

I doubt it's company policy for any staff member to stand at the front smoking let alone laugh at the terrible behaviour.

    UPDATE...

Travelodge called today and were very apologetic.

They raise some issues as above for instance the smoking in the public area as well as the reaction to incident outside.
The customer services team were very helpful and it appears that local management are to be contacted and the matter dealt with at that level.

This balances the poor performance of TL on the night, despite what was an obviously troubled evening when we stayed.

If anyone else needs to complain, forget there web based contact, emailed the CEO directly last night. Phone call from customer services this morning...

    Thanks for all the replies.

That's fairly standard at a Travel Lodge.

If I were to compare TL to a pub it would have to be a Weatherspoons.

If you're really trying to come across as all "I'm better than you", perhaps you should learn how to spell "Wetherspoons". :rotfl:
