If I explain, my mistake that I didn't trawl the Travelodge website in detail to discover that I would have to pay for parking at the Gatwick Central Hotel, but I accept that... (relevant below)
Issue is that when we arrive at 2am after a long flight and travel with my 10 year old daughter we are faced with two very drunk guests walking round the reception area, holding glasses, shouting, swearing and no reception staff.
Found a member of the staff at the bar who said wait there, someone will be around in a bit. The bit was a couple of minutes to find that the reception staff was the person stood smoking outside and seen us struggling in with our suitcases a few minutes earlier.
We are then informed about the parking so myself and my daughter go back to the car after purchasing car parking, to place the ticket. As we walked back past the front lawn of the hotel she says "what are those two people doing there..?" To my amazement the drunken guests are now having sex on the front lawn of hotel.
We went in and informed the staff who laughed and said "oh yeah I know who that will be"
It's certainly put me off TL in the future but would they do anything about a complaint? The guests can only have got in that state (ultimately) in their bar.

An apology?
Some form of goodwill gesture - maybe cash or vouchers?
I think if it were me I'd content myself by leaving a very negative review on Tripadvisor. The guests can only have got in that state (ultimately) in their bar.0 -
That's not necessaily true. They may have been at a wedding or some other function and got a taxi back, they may have been drinking their own alcohol.
Thanks for the reply, I suspect that as they were both walking around with glasses that they had at least drunk their last drink in the bar.
Trip Advisor does sound a much better option.

OP - did you take a picture or, even better, a video of the incident?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

What consumer right do you feel has been infringed?0

I thought about it but the whole thing was not the type of environment where it would have been advisable to get my phone out. I did notice CCTV within the area.0 -
Why did you not put in a complaint in the morning? TBH I would not want my young daughter witnessing drunken yobs swearing let along a couple having a shag. I'd be on the phone complaining to head office. Its got nothing to do with compensation, it's to do with a poorly run hotel. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

You tend to find that 2 am is the perfect time to be encountering drunken yobs. In future make your travel plans to avoid these times and your daughter wont be subjected to the very real world we live in.
You do realise travelodge is a budget hotel that attracts stag parties etc yes? Again if you want to shield your daughter book hotels that are out their price range.0 -

Please advise us all what hotel price range and time of arrival guarantees you won't ever see drunken behaviour.0 -

Sorry this is a nonsense reply.. Clearly you aren't suggesting the behaviour of the staff and customers is my fault based on my travel arrangements?!?
The time of arrival is based on flight delays, lets not forget this is Gatwick Central Travelodge. I would suggest that of all Travelodge Hotels you are least likely to expect this behaviour at the one at the end of an International Airport runway!0 -

This is a silly reply.“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”
