Day 2 and have done Home Bargains and Iceland shop.
I needed bunny and dog treats.

I usually find a monthly online shop cheaper, wait until sainsbobs sends me £12 off £60 shop voucher. Haven't had one this month, but still emptying my freezer.

Sold 2 more dresses on ebay not great amount but better than nothing. Wait until the other one pays and put twds my cards.

Right I have 2 1/2 hrs before school collection, going to blitz house so hopefully have a lazy weekend. Then put small one in restricted area to minimize the mess lol

Well done Bob on reaching your EF target, forgot to say yday.

Grateful for rain stopped sneezing and nose running today. Yesterday took 2 tablets in attempt to stop it. Mothernerd poor you, I love sunbathing just not pollen!

Bad news still got leak from the shower, will let it dry out and conquer at weekend.

Cleaning it is then. Grrr day off oh well has to be done, spiders everywhere watch out

    Not at all. Welcome Kate:D

What do you find you spend on food normally? And for how many of you? Do you search out YS bargains, batch cook, cut back on meat etc to help your budget ?

It's 2 adult and 3 children. I do look at the yellow sticker section and get things when I can but I go food shopping once a week around lunchtime so apart from bread not much else in the section at that time. I think il cut back on meat, use leftovers for lunches and see if I can get it down by making a plan that I actually stick to. As I said in my diary, those takeaways are too tempting :o

1 nNSD so far. Today should also be one. So many people have urged me on with their stories and support... Will be tough.

Can't help with the gf diets I'm afraid... Really feel for anyone that suffers with an allergy as I struggle with meal ideas and have a tolerance to nearly all foods ( can't do seafood _pale_)

Hope everyone is good and well x

And today I have read this:

Follow this 3-C plan for success: Control what you can (your actions and thoughts). Cope with what you can’t (emergencies and other people). Concentrate on what counts. Stay positive. Believe in yourself. Focus on your progress, not perfection. Let’s go!

Hey y'all, seems I need leading by the hand to the new thread - only just tracked you all down! :rotfl: Thanks to shyspender for last month's challenge, and to Bob for this month's - can you stick me down please m'dear?

Not sorted my budgets yet, need to actually look what I've got planned this month and budget accordingly instead of guessing! Been paid from work on Tuesday, and received quarterly studentship on Wednesday, so need to put all my pounds (employees) to work!

Think I ended up with 17 NSDs last month, not too bad!

Welcome to all the new turtles

Hi all! Such a busy day at work today - I do enjoy it, because it makes the day go faster and I love my work, but I am thoroughly shattered tonight!
Today is a SFD as well, as I'm not going out again! Also managed to sneak a workout in before work (I can almost see my arm muscles now, I keep looking at my arms and thinking "are they mine?!" hehe :D). All money has gone to various places, so definitely got my savings sorted, and put an extra £10 in as well - every bit helps.
Hope everyone's doing okay today - it's raining here, we had the thunder last night as well, I'm hoping it cools down a little bit now.
Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free! :D

    Hi Everyone!

Yesterday was a manic day! Did a fairly big shop as my cupboards and freezer were nearly empty. That's taken a bit of a chunk out of my monthly allowance but I've got stock in for a while now.

Joined the gym again - want to lose some weight and get a bit of lean definition - if that's even possible at 40 something haha!!!

    Today was SFD number 1

Thanks Bob for running the thread this month. Good luck everyone!!! Also trying here to eliminate wheat from my diet. Can't believe how much it is. An 800g loaf of good quality brown regular bread on offer was 75p. A 400g loaf of g-f bread was 2.99. It's crazy!!! I do feel less bloated when I don't eat wheat.

Have a nice evening everyone :)

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All

New & returning contenders who have asked have all now got a number.

Calling - thank you! Its a big step for me, have tried and failed several times to get the EF topped up. Well done on your ebay sales too, thats great. Watch out for those aracnids!

Thrifty - Well done on your first NSD! Its great you are feeling motivated in the evenings, but try to relax too.

TimeTrade - Well done on your NSD too! It does sound like it may be worth keeping all your food reciepts for a month at least and seeing what pattern emerges. I believe you can still run a tight budget even with daily shopping, but different things work for different people.

Optimistic Kate - Well done on your NSD! Take aways are tempting its no point denying it. But is it just me who nearly always feels a bit done over by them once they are consumed? £20 for a big fat pizza, some garlic bread, chicken wings and a drink? Never normally half as nice as the thought of one. Maybe use the demotivator tool on the site, so it would show you how much you would save by giving up 1 take away per month for a year?

Apple - Nice quote, a lot of sense in that.

Dolly - Its not too late nope, welcome aboard!

Syn - number issued, nice to see you, sorry, we werent hiding :)

Academia - Good start to the month there! 2 for 2 on the NSDs.

Abundant - Did you see my suggestion about the 2nd purse for you?

Mr Cobes - What is the tesco price match thing? Sounds interesting.

    Good going so far everyone!

    Bob

Just Tilly Tidied my bank account and paid an extra £7.03 to the stretch fund.

Thank you Calling for my nomination!! Therefore...

Today I am grateful for doing my 20 min break duty in the rain (cooled both me and the kids down), for getting some exercise done (despite achey forearms from yesterday's bike shenanigans), for our paddling pool, for having plenty of bunnies and lavender bags and mice for Saturday's fair, for good strong coffee.
