I am doing a village gala/fete this weekend and am not sure which stock to take with me to sell this year.I will have a deep covered walk in stall with the red and white striped covers,2 large tables and can hang stuff around the frame too.I am sharing it with my sister in law who makes jewellery.Last year I took my handbags because I thought they would sit better with the jewellery but only sold 6,not much profit.
I need some advice on what stock would sell best at a gala day, there will be loads of kids there(I didnt know it was a gala when I went last year and didnt take stock for kids).
This is what I have that I can take,
Ladies hippy ethnic clothes
Ethnic bags,bangles and keyrings
Kids fleece jumpers with little tractors and ponies etc on front
Little girls ethnic(Nomads)clothes
Tons of plain white cotton school t-shirts
Boxes of mixed t-shirts for adults and kids
Baby outfits, all the same,7 pc sets in blue or pink(just about 20 left)
I dont have room for everything and also have in mind that I will sharing with a jewellery stall, but does that need to determine my stock? What do you think would sell best at an event like that?"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Possibly the kids fleeces, just in case it rains tomorrow
I would take all the kids and baby stuff if there are loads of kids and then fit and bags, jewellery etc if you have roomNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
When do most of you head to the boot sale, at the start, middle or end? normally i go about 8ish when it opens at 6. but today didn't get across till gone 10.30, wasn't going at all but saw it was still busy as drove passed. i noticed a few stalls saying everything 10p etc which was to stop them having to take them back but didn't spot any bargains. in fact i only came back with a 20p box of stickers (which cost 70p really including the entrance fee!)
i've never come back with that little before!0 -

Hi Deava,
We were at the Greenfields Boot Fair this morning (on the turning to Upnor as you approach the Medway Tunnel Roundabout). Did you go? I gather it was the first one since it moved from Gillingham? It was pretty big. Apparently buyers were queuing back to the main road to get in. The people who approached us first thing were looking for jewellery or records, if that helps. We sold toys/clothes/household and sold quite a bit but there's huge choice there for sellers. If you didn't go: Pitch was £9. Think it started 6 am (we got there 6.45 and it was 2/3rds full) and finished up around 1 pm. It's on a cut hay field so don't wear flip flops!
Hope useful.

Pedham Place & Wrotham Field.
I have used in the past (but not recently) a big boot sale that moves between these two locations.
(This keeps the operation on the right side of planning law and gives the grass a chance to recover)
Pedham Place is the South East field to the junction created by the M25 crossing the M20.
Wrotham Field is a bit further along the M20 into Kent.

They were certainly well under way in Essex in the early 1980's, when we and a group of other parents got together to raise funds for deaf children by flogging donated "stuff" at boot sales..0 -
Hi JP
Yes we were there, we only live 5 minutes away so were there at 6am.We did quite well selling lots of toys and household bits and pieces.Would definitely go again - hope they get the access for buyers sorted - apparantly the police had to close the road.
Do you know of any other good sites?

Hi,
I have been to this bootfair when it was held in Twydall i think it is one of the better ones around, a lot of people rave about it.
We are looking to do a stall before it finishes this year to sell the knickknacks that my Grandparents cannot move into their new house with. They do have a website but it doesnt state what time you should arrive if you are doing a stall or how much the fee of the stall would cost and there is no contact number.
I will keep searching for this and will let you know the details if i can get them!
