Oh dear, sorry guys ....
Our CBS had a quite steady flow of buyers, we didn't get much "down time" in 5 hours but at least our local charity shops will be benefitting this week£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250
£2 Savers Club 2015 #8 £250£200 :j

Both venues busy, Wimbledon on Saturday & Hounslow on Sunday.
Wimbledon can be a very cramped pitch for its 10 GBP fee, but it is hard standing.
Hounslow Heath is now charging 12 GBP.
Our estate car has something like a big door on trestles along its side, two flanking paste tables, the tailgate is jammed open with bits of wood next to the hinges and circled with a ratchet strap, so it can be used as a hanging rack.
The new improvement is a table across the bonnet:
Make two "L" shapes of timber batten held together with a shelf bracket.
Place the "L" shape so that the "toe" of the "L" pokes into the ground alongside the front bumper on each side. The long side of the "L" rests between the door mirror and the door window of driver and passenger's door.
Then place something to make a table top, such as an internal door, across the two "L" shapes. Finally jam something to take the weight from the middle of the table top town onto a STRONG part of the bonnet (I used a biscuit tin on a cushion).
Now three sides of the car are selling! and with two people to take the money it works.
(It also means that the front doors cannot be used during the sale!!)
.
It was a good weekend - might have been something to do with the weather and the
Eid festivities.

I looking for some advice. I am looking at selling books at a car boot. These will be current books. Looking to get a £1 a book. Various books from novels to cookbooks. Would a £1 each be realistic?0

I do very few car boots but for current paperbacks I wouldn't expect to get more than 50p and for hardbacks maybe £1 a piece. Things like Da Vinci code and other things like that you can't even give away. You need to concentrate on quantity not price really on books to make money.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Dunno if this is the right thread to post in but does any one know any good big car boot sales in or around Newport area? Were looking to do a Car Boot Sale tomorrow (Sunday) and were wondering where the best place would be.
Also can anyone please tell me the average cost at car boots sales to sell clothes for? Were looking to sell a few children/teenager clothes and women's clothes.0 -
I can't help on the first question, I'm afraid.
As far as pricing clothes goes I think it depends on the item and the brand. Most adult things I would price at £1 per item, but jackets, coats, suits would be more (£3-£5). Any really nice designer items would be more too (although I'd tend to sell them on eBay). For childrens clothes I'd probably price at 50p per item. I'm always happy to take offers too though, so would do 3 for 2 for example if someone was buying a few bits as I'm generally looking to get rid as much as make money!
Good luck with your sale.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

Nicole,
Don't know if you're still looking but there's a sale in Caerleon (weather permitting) on Sunday 18th October. Caerleon dot Net has the details. (Sorry can't post links).
Or try the events calendar on your local radio station (I believe it's Red Dragon Radio).
I'm a lot further west than you so my local ones are probably too far for you but if you fancy a day out there's one at the new racecourse at Ffos Las near Llanelli on Saturday mornings (booters from 11am).
Just found a list of sales in Cardiff and Swansea, not sure how up to date it is. Sorry no contact details for any of these, you'll have to find them out yourself.
Splott Car Boot Sale, Cardiff: Lewis Road, Cardiff.
Thursdays and Saturdays (all year round), from 6am.
Cost: £5 per pitch
Singleton Park Car Boot Sale, Swansea: Singleton Hospital Car Park, off Oystermouth Road, Swansea.
Every Saturday (all year round), from 6am.
Cost: Cars £10, vans and cars with trailers £15
Bessemer Road Car Boot Sale, Cardiff: Bessemer Road Fruit Market, Leckwith, Cardiff.
Every Saturday And Sunday (all year round), from 9.30am.
Good Luck!
