Good morning all. I have contacted Toshiba's Help Line and they confirmed that my Laptop has a spare slot for fitting an SSB (they advise Max. 256GB).

............. Now, how do I go about it all ?

    Many thanks.

It's SSD and you should ask them for the recommended part number. I doubt there is space for a second drive, unless you remove the optical drive.
I think they might mean mSATA...but I don't know if your particular machine carries that connection.

............ Oh ... and me who thought I was out of trouble .....

I will check again tomorrow. Mind, the guy who spoke to me (based in the Philippines) was a tad hesitant during the whole of our conversation. Hope I get someone else tomorrow.

#enfield freddy. Thanks. This looks extremely easy but that's a HDD removal ... my request would be to add a SSD (as per Nifty's picture I guess) inside my Laptop

enfield freddy's link is the correct link. Some models of R700 use 7 - 9.5mm HDD and therefore 7 - 9.5mm SSD and some use mSATA SSD.
Yours is in the first category.

The question raised is whether your R700 has connections for both. In other words, whether you can leave your current HDD in place and to add an mSATA SSD.
This is what you have suggested.
At the moment you are swapping your HDD, for a 7 - 9.5mm SSD

....... My idea was to have the SSD as well as having the SSD ..... I will open the back later on as per enfield Freddy's link and take pictures for you to see.

An SSD is just a different type of HDD ... isn't it ...

In the main, there are two differing kinds of SSD.

So your idea is to swap the HDD to an SSD and then add a mSATA SSD too?

    Port!g! R700-182 Yours comes with 9.5mm HDD.

    Port!g! R700-185 This one comes with a 128GB 1.8" SSD.

Happily for you, yours is easier with which to deal. You should be able to simply swap the drive as in the video.
The second model might need a special cable.
