The BOGOF ends on 17.5.05 it didn't apply to the 12 for 9 packs just the ordinary 9 pack

Thanks for the details. I did have a really good look around the whole store (the things we'll do for a cheap loo roll ;)) but there was no sign of there being a BOGOF offer - just the empty space where the 12 for 9 should be. Maybe it varies from store to store

My local store had the 12 for the price of 9 at £3.46. I had a good look around the promotions at the end of aisles but I didn't find a BOGOF on Velvet
I think they must have had some sort of memo cos she said they have to be careful now as they now get lots of people trying to give them money off vouchers??. Maybe they think we should just collect them rather than use them.
They used to be extremely lenient about accepting vouchers, but they were having people coming in with over £100 worth of internet vouchers at one time, all for products that they weren't actually buying. Obviously if people start taking the pee, their attitude will harden, hardly surprising. They also put fewer coupons in the free Tesco Magazine now, as people were taking 20 copies and using loads of £2 off Glade Air Freshener vouchers (for example) against their food shop, but not buying the Glade product

There was an incident at Weston Favell at the end of last year where a lady had bought a mobile telephone costing over one hundred pounds, paid for virtually all of it in unrelated vouchers, then the next day came back and tried to obtain a cash refund. When they offered the lady her vouchers back she threw the telephone packaging across the Customer Service Desk at the member of staff concerned!

They subsequently changed the rules so that only 50% of your total purchase price could be made in vouchers for things you hadn't bought (i.e. you spend twenty pounds total, the cashier can accept up to ten pounds' worth of vouchers for products that you haven't actually bought)

Recently it has been further tightened, as have checks on people using staff discount (privilege) cards, now management are checking retrospectively that the name on the credit/debit card slips matches the name on the privilege card

However I think quite a lot of it comes down to the individual store manager, which cashier serves you and which supervisors happen to be around if the cashier queries it ;)
Thanks to all who post constructively.

The incompetence of Tesco staff is quite amazing!
I went to the New Oscott (Brum) store this morning and bought the BOGOF bogrolls. I presented the coupons but Johnny No-stars on the till said they did not accept internet coupons. I demanded to see the manager who came along and said he didn't know if they did or not. I told him to find out and ring me. Later received a call from a Customer Service woman who said that they had made a mistake, and they DID accept them, but only if the product was purchased. I told her it was, so she said I could return and use them.
I protested that the return journey would cost me money, but she didn't care. I rang their national Customer Service line (0800 505555) who agreed to send me compensation for my wasted return trip.
What I propose to do is print out some more, and use as many as I can to make the trip worthwhile.
Moral of the Story: Never believe what the staff in Tesco tell you. They are blagging it, as they really don't have a clue. Argue the toss!

I just phoned up Tesco customer service, as they have not replied to my emails, to ask their position on internet vouchers. They said that vouchers printed from the internet were not accepted in any store. I told him my relatives had successfully used them in a couple of stores. He said they should not have been accepted.Depends who you get to speak to in CS.

No BOGOFs at Barkingside or Charlie Brown's. The £1 off coupon states it's for Andrex
'double' not 'velvet'. Soooo confusing all this loo roll stuff! Will continue my search for the BOGOFs though! Managed to print off 4 coupons this morning.

    Hmmm,

    Hi Roger ...

I had 2 valid vouchers for £1 off a pack and I go off to make my purchase. Yet Tesco says they will only honour one as it is a BOGOF offer, but clearly I come away with two packs. They advertise BOGOF on 9 rolls but say 9 rolls with the free extra 3 is not a 9 pack but a 12 pack, it is however exactly the same price, but placed somewhere else in the store? Seems to me it is Tescos's that is taking the pee. Well it is nice to get 18 rolls for £2.46 but I kinda still think it is Tescos that come out on top here.

    anyone else feel the same?

It worked for me, two packs, two vouchers. Didn't scan through, had to be entered. I purposely picked a nice young assistant who told me she could only accept one, but changed her mind when I pointed out that I had purchased two packs. Bless her.

Lots of BOGOFs and some just reduced fresh produce, so came out with masses of shopping for very little cash. If I wasn't moving house shortly I'd be back tomorrow!
