And neither is she...which is what we're getting at. You aren't on her claim so you aren't responsible for her claim or overpayments but you can have a joint claim and get what is rightfully due to the both of you.

You cannot sleep overnight at all with someone you consider a partner or a girlfriend without it affecting your benefits.

I work 37.5 hours at £7.20 when i took the job I thought it was 40 hours so my annual wage is i think £12,960 £7.20 x 37.5 x 4 x 12 think thats correct maybe i wrong

OK thats fine I get that SO my next question is is a joint claim going to result in her losing money on her benefits?

I have no idea what she earns but its more than me

Something you need to remember, your friend and mine Mr Osbourne is going to be telling us of his plans in his latest budget in about 10 days time and Tax Credits are one of the favourites to take a hit.

Your calculation should be £7.20 x 37.5 x 4 x 13, there isn't only 4 weeks in a month.

God im useless thank you tho.

So strange a friend of mine is on the same wage as me, lives on his own yet he gets £56 working tax credits yet I may not be entitled wonder why that is obv assuming i didnt sleep at gf 3 nights a week

Bubbles im guessing what she earns but her wage is more than mine so im guessing 15k now.

I guess then, if/when she is caught you can stick to that story, You will not be complicit to fraud, it is only her that will end up with overpayments and possibly fines and criminal record. No action will be against you......not a situation I would live in
