AO.com hiding the VAT

The other point I would make is that I did read the T&C's and agree that price does include VAT but it is not displayed as I would expect with a breakdown at first view of the item. The clarity on this is only available at the point in which you have entered all card information. At this point you are unlikely to stop the purchase or be aware that VAT is then added as I have experienced.0

Final time - the price shown on ao's website (and other B2C sites) INCLUDES THE VAT AND IS THE TOTAL PRICE YOU PAY.
It is not misleading.
They aren't required to breakdown the price at the display point but they do show it on the invoice. As said above if you want to know before this what the price without VAT is - divide the displayed price by 1.2

As suspected the OP woke up too early.
Is it also too early for a facepalm?

Here is the example. The price shown on the webpage page for each item was the net value. The net values are shown as total cost with VAT added at point of checkout after card details added. Yes VAT is shown on the invoice. I believed as many others would that the initial cost would be the total cost.

OK, you see an item at £250.00, this includes VAT. You're happy to buy the item, so you go to checkout and pay. Your invoice shows a breakdown, item cost plus VAT. The price you pay is still £250.00, what exactly are you on about OP ?0
-
Are you stupid op? The prices shown on the item pages are the VAT inclusive prices and are the prices you pay at checkout. There is NO further VAT added at checkout!0

When i look on their website at the Leisure Cooker Hood it shows the price as £190 ??

This is the price including VAT.0 -
As I understand it {and yes I could be wrong} but the only reason that the VAT is shown as a breakdown at the end is for customers who are able to reclaim the VAT side of the sale so in most situations the VAT showing at the point of pay is irrelevant .0

Let's leave it there. My expectations are clearly different to those that have offered replies. My post was to raise an awareness and not for any other purpose. My view is unchanged but I am offended by some of the responses.0
