No, Mrs Doyle, I really don't think the boys will want a flask of tea and some egg sandwiches for their night out.
No, they won't. Really, they won't. Honestly, they won't, I'm telling you.

Bert, explain to Mrs Doyle the traditional catering arrangements on stag nights, will you? Oh, and mind that flying plate of egg sandwiches.

  • No NSD earned today :(

DS2 will be going on a school trip to Light Water Valley tomorrow (school's treat to pupils who have more than 95% attendance record - this is DS2's third consecutive year with the group) and DS1 will be going to Italy on Thursday (also a school trip). I had to buy packed lunchy things and since I was already losing a NSD, I thought I'd just include our weekly shop. Spent £50 (ouch) but hopefully the food will last til Friday when I might have to do another small shop for DS2's camping trip this weekend (scout group).

Due to popular demand (from my hungry hippos) I cooked chicken chow mein again for supper. I cooked a whole wok full and that has sorted mine and hubby's LTW for the next few days, that is if my DS's haven't hoovered them all up yet. (I don't really know where they put all the food they eat. They're hungry all the time and DS2 is as thin as a stick. I wish I had the same metabolism rate.)

It's my second day of early shift and it wasn't as traumatic a shock to my body clock as yesterday was. I am slowly adjusting to waking up at 5:30 am. Tomorrow is my third and hopefully will be doddle, Thursday is the fourth and will hopefully feel like second nature. But then come Saturday and Sunday I will be back to night shifts. More shock to the body clock. But hey ho, somebody's got to do the job and I need to pay the bills.

In that note, I bid you good night. Early to bed and early to rise and all that. Night night all!

Oh calamity! The Narglehounds have just returned from a hunting expedition....And instead of a NSD they have brought back....a pair of grey baggy undermentionables and a ginger chest wig! What on earth could possibly have happened? Tatty is beside herself with grief ( not difficult as there is so much of her...)

    The mind boggles....

Since Igor possesses more cunning than the cunningest of cunning foxes,I'm sure he'll be all right. But twice as grumpy.
I just hope he took my advice and wore two pairs of unmentionables.
He might end up being arrested for streaking....

I bet that The Good Olde Boys and that arch bounder Scroggins are involved.

Everything has been explained to her by the doc but even the fact that she could lose her leg isn't sinking in. We are at a loss with her and DH is worried sick naturally. Hopefully it will start to improve :)
I am thinking that if nargle doesn't want the gorgeous spongebob shoes you posted, maybe I will snaffle them. They will compliment my outfit wonderfully. All I need now is tall, dark and handsome to accompany me as DH doesn't appreciate my dress sense  I know !! No taste :rotfl:

    I hope so too scotmum.

Ah,I see that you are indeed a lady of style, elegance and sophistication.

    These are a lovely choice:

They might not fit though...Hubert tried getting his delicate little hooves into them the other day.Don't worry though. We can always sellotape them on.

Hubby just might change his mind when he sees these gorgeous boots. :rotfl:

Popping in to report on my month so far...
11th. This is where I come unstuck with knowing whether to claim as an NSD or not. On 25th June I ordered a DVD box set, but it hadn't arrived by 7th so I contacted the seller who immediately issued a refund. Surprised me they did so that fast, as officially it still had another week before it was overdue (but items from them normally arrive the first expected day or even the day before, which made it at least a week overdue). At that point the only copy they had for sale was a new one, and I'd ordered a used copy so realised they wouldn't replace with that one. But the next day they listed another used copy, which made OH and myself wonder if I'd managed to get it at a lower price than they wanted to sell it for - and they'd therefore not actually posted it out, and waited until they'd issued a refund to relist. So I watched until it fell to 43p less than I'd previously paid and re-ordered from them ;) So I can either claim 25th of last month as an NSD (due to having had the only spend refunded) and then count 11th as a spend day, or I can leave 25th as a spend day and count 11th as an NSD as I was ordering a replacement item after receiving a full refund

    12th. Total NSD (either #6 or #7)

After reading the last bit of your post I've got a headache....

Actually, does it matter, since either one or the day was an nsd because of the refund.

Now,do you want me put down 6 or 7 nsds?

    I'm putting down 7. :)

A non spendy weekend for me bringing my total up to NSD 8 but equally as important I've had 4 in a row which exceeds my second target for ' in a rows' :D

    Very well done zenshi! :j:j

I shall rush off in a mo to award you your prizes - a few bootcamp sessions on the Common. :D
NSD number 10 woohoo! Halfway there!

It was such a shock to my system to wake up at 5:30 am this morning. My shifts for the last few weeks have been either night shifts or late shifts so what a change to my body clock. I played yawn contest with my colleagues today and went straight to bed when I got home at 3pm. It's tempting to just sleep through the night and wake up at 5am tomorrow but I must really get up and make supper.

    Wait a minute,wait a minute.You signed up for 12 nsds,according to my scribblings.

    Two more to go....

Having done shiftwork for twenty six years I have to say that shiftwork sucks, though it is lovely to be off during the week when everyone else is working.

    Good morning all!

You are right marmite. Pardon me, my sight was on the third target of 20. But yes 2 days away from my first target of 12. Hopefully today is the 11th. Not foreseeing any spend today but will declare tonight when it's all in the bag,

Yup shift work definitely sucks. It messes up my metabolism and makes losing weight so much harder. Unfortunately I don't have a choice at the minute. As the song goes:

    I owe, I owe
So off to work I go
    I work all day
    I get no play
    I owe, I owe, I owe, I owe

    I owe
So off to work I go
    Everyday
    There's more to pay
    The bills they choke
    I'm always broke
    I owe, I owe, I owe, I owe.
