Today I finally find a store with stock only to be told that my code has expired:mad: I'm off to Ebay to buy one instead, would've saved me a fortune if i'd done that to start with.

    Just a note of caution!!
Never leave things like this unattended!!

Please try not to leave these plugged in and recharging overnight!
Their is a small risk that they may overhead and explode!

She left the device plugged into her laptop recharging overnight, it overheated and exploded starting a small fire.

As a precaution, EE are recalling any power bars in batch E1-06

  • is this scheme still suspended ? (i.e. getting a code via text)

IIRC they were supposed to remove in August ?
  • Now they're recalling all Power Bars, regardless of which batch number they're from (link).
  • Hi,

I have an EE power bar, it was bought direct from them when they were using them at Glastonbury festival in 2013 (they had a stand which swapped dead ones for new ones).

I've never been an EE customer. What are peoples rights with these? I understand this might be a voluntary recall so does that mean that officially EE don't have to do anything but they are just to save face? Therefore the voucher is just a gesture of goodwill essentially and legally they don't have to recall these at all?

The £20 voucher to me is worthless really. There is nothing in the EE store I need or want.

    Thanks!

EDIT: Wow, first post and I've been a member for 5.5 years!
  • I wonder if they will try to charge people who dont return the power bar

Unlikely, and not worth their while IMO. I'm keeping mine, nothing wrong with it.
