I have now received my refund from Family Mobile and they have re-credited the original card I used to pay. I think I have it early as I got annoyed with them when the announcement was made and advised them I would report them to CISAS if they did not refund my money. That was before Timico got involved and there was the change of position with regard to refunds, hopefully everything will be OK for anyone else that needs a refund.
This could have been so much easier than they made it but at least the end result is the right one.
Like others I have moved to Asda as they offer the same rate and my phone is only 2G. As some of the others like Three only offer 3G/4G they are not an option for me. I have contacted Asda customer service a couple of times and found them very helpful. If they eventually get online accounts etc. then that would be great.0 -
An example of think before you post?
I gave some thought to deleting my post before you saw it, but decided to leave it.
The email does not directly itself contain any mention of refunds, and also the front page of the website doesn't say so either, just says use up credit by August 31st, so anyone who doesn't follow the FAQ links or phone up may not discover about refunds.0 -
All,
Don't forget that this service shuts this weekend.
You will need to make alternative arrangements when it shuts.
Refunds need to be claimed ASAP using the email address you will have been supplied.'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

Has anyone seen refund instructions on the website?
However, I've found this pdf file which actually details what needs to be done:

Yes, I was going to come back and edit my post.
My browser was going to download that with a dash 1 suffix, which meant I already had a copy, so I stopped to read that again.
However after a brief phone call where she was quoting something different, I noticed the current version file size is slightly larger, so downloaded again.
It has details to email or post a claim.0 -
