"just" - Do you mean that Coms have sold them to another company, ie yours, or do you man that you work for Coms?

You are talking about a MVNO going bust - apples and oranges.
They are shutting up shop so refunding FOC isn't unreasonable.

You know this? They've been sold/bought out - would they do this if they were profitable? I think not! Also, there appears to be no concurrent takeover of service by a third party, so expecting them to refund money they most probably don't have is a long shot.

But as an MVNO, they are simply a 'front' for a real network - if folk are fooled into believing there is no difference, then more fool them. If cost was the issue that led to the decision to join, that's their risk - in the same way the compny's shareholders would also take a hit.

Anyway, with the comments wanting links to the £5 refund facility, it beggars belief folk just cannot read a price list.

So, are you planning to keep us in the dark permanently or will you now point us to where on their website this refund for £5 clause is? Please regard belief as beggared, and when you've regarded it as such then kindly post the link.

Don't forget you can donate your unused credit to many charities via a text message. This tears it straight out of the pockets of those who would rip you off and gives it to some people you care about. Make greed good.
Edit: Don't forget to disable "Automatic Topup" first or they'll just steal more from you.

According to an email I got about the closure, Timico only bought them a month ago. Either they didn't do their homework very well or are just stripping out the assets they want.

The current service is on EE, the email suggested I migrate to their "business strength" service on O2 - they really don't understand the customer base if they are serious about that.

I signed up with them to get an almost-everlasting SIM for my young son's cheap "emergency phone" which he takes to football training. Anyone know of a network that does similar SIM-only line-rental-free deal?

Emailed them asking for a refund, not expecting one though.

Just about all of them. Choose a network and order a free SIM online; or buy one for a quid from a supermarket.

I think on balance the 3 network will suit your needs with their 321 Pay as you go service. You top it up and are then charged 3p per minute for calls to landlines and mobiles, 2p per text and 1p per megabyte of data that you use. The good thing about it is that once you top it up it doesn't lapse until you use it up.

Be persistent is asking for your refund.

I must be behind the times, I thought most of the cheap PAYG top-ups expired after so many days.

You're right, they do generally expire after a month, but not the 321 tariff on 3.

Top ups don't expire on any network but bundles do
It's not just about the money
