Real life always tends to throw a curve ball in the shape of a car:mad: We live in rural splendour too and really cant go without especially as I have a 100 round trip commute! You will get back on track. Its a minor set back. Onwards and downwards with the debt and all that. Have you started a little cash stash for such emergencies. I opened an on line Cred!t Union account for such things and squirreld away as much as poss each much - it all added up quietly and after 2 years I have managed to save almost 4K.I know its counter intuitive whilst having outstanding debts but these are at 0% and all being over paid. We have had to have some major work done on the house and it has meant we have been able to go ahead without relying on the CC's Even a couple of hundred £'s in contingency is useful;)

Hope ur ok, just thought I would give u a laugh.

Had DDs 13th bday yesterday, needless to say she was spolit, thou I did use Amazonn vouchers, tesco double up ...

Main present (off parents) - Ipad Air 2 - Tesco send the wring model.... a nightmare phonecall trying to get it sorted - got there today with a new one...

One of her keep items - gold ring, - it was too small but jewellers did a free resize - dropped it off start Sept, be 3 weeks, no probs, went in Monday (due last week), cut a long story short they lost the ring, - asked for a refund, - we can't refund you its over 28 days.... but you have had it 25 days, I threatened a sit in, bad publicity, etc --- guess who won the stand-off me..... They had a ring in stock right size, twice the price (£80...Id paid £33 in sale), I ended up only paying £10 extra the company absorbed the difference....

    It was fun thou. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Sorry diary for neglecting you, been in a funk over the car, but I've got over it and back on task.

So ar$£ back in gear, so whats the plan for the rest of the month!!

    1, keep spending under control.
2, £bay. 10 items listed and sold a BIN today, only£5 but gone to N£XT.
3, surveys - £40 received from 0nep0ll, kept this as need it to keep afloat, £5 amaz0n voucher also received.
4.grocery spends, this is where things go wrong, spent £11 today on bread, crumpets, fish.
    5. House, its feeling shabby and untidy at the minute, picked up 2 under bed storage boxes for £8 for DS room, had been looking at a wooden chest which is £50, but the boxes are cheaper and take up less space as they can be pushed underneath his bed out of the way. Have some emulsion paint in the garage so going to get DH to spruce kitchen up at the weekend.
6, Debt, its going down and I hav'nt used a CC for months, PO cc is now in the hundreds instead of the thousand which is a good feeling.

    Onwards and upwards.

  • Good morning diary.

Well its not been a good couple of weeks health wise, after getting over my funk with the car and was raring to get back to the frugal living/debt slaying/ money saving life if has all gone a bit pete tong. DD gave me a cold which has gone to my chest leaving me with chest infection and on anti-biotic, to say I have felt like death is an understatement, although meds seem to have kicked in and I feel more human today than I have in a long while. But this has had a huge impact on money as I have been off work and also the food bill has gone sky high due to lots of carp being eaten due to me not feeling up to cooking.

So things are tighter that a ducks bottom, but looking on the bright side I havn't spent a penny on a CC.

As I've been feeling brighter this morning I've managed to tackle mount ironing and that's all in piles on the dining table to put away, also made some gingerbread for pack ups, but now I'm pooped.
I managed to list a couple of items yesterday on £bay but apart from that not a lot has been achieved.

Thankyou to those that have popped in to see how i'm doing and I apologise to you for lack of updates.
