I did some topping up this week and spent a further £15.84. So my total stands at:

    £43.65/£140

I am ever so slightly over my weekly target of £35 but I think next week is going to be a lot better because I have lots of items in the freezer. Planning on a chicken and chorizo paella, sausage casserole using one of the delicious recipes on here, lasagne using leftover sheets (if anyone has a good link to a fail proof bechamel sauce recipe, I would be very glad to hear it!), gammon steaks and chips, macaroni cheese, roast pork, and then roast pork baguettes. Fingers crossed that I manage to keep the spending down!

Spend of £15 for me yesterday as we had a BBQ but I do have half left which I have frozen so hopefully we will get some sun next weekend then I'm prepared ;)
Have done so well this month and the freezer and cupboards are well stocked ... Only fresh veg/fruit to get 😀
Hoping when the boys break up I've got pretty much enough in as I've got loads of sarnie food frozen which should be fine for lunches (fingers crossed)
Had a NSD today and hoping for a good few this week as the freezer is chock a block ... Yay !!

Discovered last night that I'm desperately low on tinned tuna, so need to stock up very soon.
Sorry but I don't know about the two brands you are looking at and I only buy tuna in brine, or even better, spring water.

I have seen that Farmf**ds are doing their offer of 12x145 cans for £7.00 and if you can make the order up to £25 then with a MOC you can save another £2.50.

Other than that I have bought them in £stretch on offer and also B&M - HTH

Had to get coffee today and the best reasonable one I found was DoweEG at £3.98 for 190g in £stretch :( It seems to gone expensive here ATM as all the budget stores obviously watch each other's offers. Oh well, can't win all the time eh.

Hope you all have a marvellous Monday

    Thanks for the feedback.

I prefer brine if I'm mixing with mayo, but will happily use in oil when cooking with it (if they're the same price I always get brine).

No way I'd reach £25 in F/Foods, and it's a hike for me to get to the closest store. I might be up that way later in the week, but not until after the Mr M offer ends so don't think I'll risk it this time (especially as 12 tins is a lot to have in if DS doesn't like). Hadn't thought to check B&M or £stretch though, and will be passing both tomorrow morning so must pop in for a look :)

I can spend a fortune in farmfoods. I think you get good value in there, much better than I had thought. I get a good few of my 'core groceries' there now like the kids cereal, milk (8pts for £1.50), cat litter, bin bags, crisps, yoghurts etc and obviously some freezer stuff. Their Nicky toilet roll is pretty good too not to mention large size washing powder and fairy liquid.
Trying to fix my finances whilst living with 3 kids and 2 cats! 👩🏻👧🏻👦🏻👶🏼🐱🐱

I agree with you. I get the 15 cans of Hz B Beans for £7, the T/roll you mention, whatever washing powder is on offer. DH gets some of their offers on crisps and pack of biscuits and then there is the MOC on top :T

They used to do a wonderful pack of ham ends for £1, which would make two meals with pasta/leeks in sauce with some veggies but they seem to have stopped that :(

I don't feed a family though, and I stock up on loads of things (raw meat and toilet rolls especially) at Costco. I rarely buy crisps, and even more rarely yoghurts (DS doesn't eat them, and I shouldn't as I'm lactose intolerant). Tried their frozen chicken fillets a few years ago, but they were so salty I almost ended up binning them

That said, it's not a store I often think about using as it's a 2.2 mile walk each way - with a steep uphill at the end each way :o

Another wee top up for me today at Mr A.L. Di. Had to buy a few things to allow me to use my freezer stash this week. So I need to add another £9.11 to the running total. If all goes well and I don't run out of household cleaning goods, it should be a no spend week at the supermarket!
