Hiya everyone :hello:
DH volunteered for shopping at A*di today :j and has now lost the receipt  So although we have shopped I can't add it until it shows up in account (prob about Tuesday). I have left myself a note under the toaster to look for it as I know I shall otherwise forget :rotfl:
We had black pudding, bacon, eggs, tomatoes and baked beans for dinner for a change - breakfast in the evening
Hope you all have a super Sunday

Just read the thread and it occurred to me how hard it is with children to have a low food budget. How quickly we forget when our children grow, leave home etc. The hidden costs of yoghurt, fruit, small children friendly snacks and so on.
So I applaud all of you with children and babies. There is fiscal light at the end of the tunnel. I am living proof!
Enjoy your summers0 -

I am ashamed to say I cleared out my freezer last week and threw away lots...some stuff that was in there had been pushed to the bottom time and time again and looked manky some stuff I couldn't actually tell what it was...
This is a huge waste of money and I have decided it HAS to stop. So I have re organised the freezer made a meal plan and labelled everything. I have stopped buying yellow sticker items unless I actually USE or NEED the item and not just because it's a bargain! (a bargain is not a bargain if it gets thrown in the bin.)
I can live on the contents this week and have already made a yummy lasange out of bits and pieces I already have, next week I shall be filling the freezers from Iceland as the savings over the big 4 are considerable. So that is my grocery challenge!0 -
Discovered last night that I'm desperately low on tinned tuna, so need to stock up very soon.
I've been using Pr!nces Chunks in Brine or in Oil (stocked up when on offer in Mr M a good while back), but the only ones I have left are Orient@l and Pacific Shredded Tuna in Brine which my son won't eat (apparently tastes too fishy!) and I'm not as keen on but can use up in mayo for butties or on jacket potatoes.
Just been doing price checks on line, but don't know what the 2 cheapest are like so thought I'd ask if anyone's used them and what they think.
Unless anyone knows of any deals I've missed, the cheapest is Orient@l & Pacific Chunks in Oil (4x160g for £1.75, so under 44p a tin). The next cheapest per 100g is the Chunks in Brine from A1di (185g for 62p) - though their in Oil is cheaper per tin (160g for 59p).
I also spotted Mr M have the Princes chunks on offer again (4 x 160g for £2.49, making them 62.5p a tin) which I'm tempted to pick up as I know my son will eat that one, but I thought I'd ask if anyone can tell me how the O&P chunks and A1di ones compare to Pr!nces first.Cheryl0
