Here's an offer not advertised:-
Park Resorts "Crimdon Dene Park" only, have an offer for Touring Caravans from August 27th to the end of the season on October 15th (49 days) for £199 usual price £465 a saving of £265.
Details of the park can be found on the Park Resorts website which has new indoor swimming pool, clubhouse and entertainment.
tip:- Don't ring the 0870 number for the park, use the geographical number 01429 267801 and save yourself even more money.
Good luck, and hope there are still places left for you, I'm all right jack, booked in weeks ago.0 -
If you want a cheap trip to the Isle of Wight, we use Red Funnel Ferries - it costs £115 for 5 nights camping (motorhome, tent) including ferry crossing, awning and electrical hook-up on one of 5 sites. Book on-line and you save £5 - making it £110!!!! Caravans or trailer tent camping cost £135.
They only sail out of Southampton, but it's a really cheap way to get across the most expensive stretch of water in the world and have a holiday (the ferry crossing alone is around £80 return). It is only in low(ish) season - but you can go in any half-term holidays, Easter (I think) and quite a way into the summer season - check out the dates below - could also be good for autumn half-term if we get our Indian Summer!
"This package is available from 9 Feb to 18 May, 3 Jun to 14 Jul and 1 Sept to 2 Jan 2008. Save £'s on standard fares. "

Can anyone actually recommend a decent tent. We have a eurohike 3 man tent which is great (only a year old) but we are now a growing family

We are looking for a decent family tent that has at least 2 rooms and sleeps minimum 5/6. We are campsite campers and not mountaineers
so we drive put it up and bar b q :T I would like one that will put up a decent fight in the great wet british summers we are having though
There are so many i am confused! Any help greatly recieved.
I found this http://www.blacks.co.uk/blacks.storefront/product/BLKSS07Sale/BLKSS07TentsSale/094801.aspx but am unsure if there is better out there? It may also be too big!
And now i have found this one http://www.tauntonleisure.com/products/colorado-600-special-offer/2757/ so confusing!0 -
There's a lovely cheapish campsite at Prawle Point, Devon, with minimal facilities, but you can shower in the nearby pub. Go down to the pub and it's the field over to the right towards the sea, through a 5-barred gate, as I remember it. Forget the pub's name - sorry.0

I clicked onto your 1st link and under the main tent displayed I found the tent I actually have. I got it couple of months ago after joining ukcampsite.co.uk. On this site they also have For Sale/Wanted Ads and I got the Vango Diablo 600 for only £50.00. It's only for myself and my 2 young sons, but means we can take couple of friends too. The living area is quite large and the extended porch means we can cook under it. I also got the 3 ring gas cooker that was advertised in the For Sale Ads. It was £30.00. We are going to Robin Hoods Bay the day after the Bank Hol, weather permitting of course!! Can everybody do a "sun dance" as opposed to "rain dance" please as I don't fancy going if it rains like it did last month!!
Sorry, I digress!! Get a tent with a groundsheet fully integrated - no damp bits!
Good luck in your hunt and choice.0 -
Do you take your dog/s camping with you? If you do this website might be of interest as it lists dog friendly shops, cafes, pubs, etc in different areas of the country so you know where you can take your pet with you when you go out for the day
http://dogfriendlybritain.co.uk/
I've just got this info in my latest camping and caravanning magazine, all of their sites happily accept dogs0 -
Last winter we spent two months on a site in Spain, in the Donnana National Park, and paid half price, the longer you stay the cheaper it gets, retired folk get discounts too.0

Caravanners and motorhome users can save money by using rechargeable water filters. I use Filtapac - they are much cheaper than conventional filters and they improve your carbon footprint by recycling plastic.:A
