Ah well, we found that we can put another car across the front of the driveway within our boundary and had a chat with the sales lady who said that although it is visitor parking it's generally accepted by those living there that they can happily park a second car there if they wish.

I have visited at different times and at no time (except for trades vehicles on site) has anyone else parked there, so parking appears to be sufficient for all. The garage won't fit the car however!

There is a new problem, they appear to have almost completed inside. We saw some tools lying around. However I will start a new thread called snagging I think!

I'm getting more and more convinced this is a wind up thread!

Some broadband checks don't show FTTP because it's not a mainstream product, and it also won't show until the equipment is installed which will be towards the end of the build, so it probably just doesn't show yet.

There's not much point in OpenReach putting copper into new build areas knowing that it's outdated.

It has BT ADSL but not any fibre broadband. Just put postcode in https://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker?address=true
    to check

The local exchange is ADSL only, but it seems fairly close by so speeds should be okay

But the exchange only supports ADSL so no matter what they lay between the exchange and the house, you won't get FTTP

She would say that though wouldn't she?
She is only interested in a sale, what happens after that is no concern to her.

FTTP doesn't always connect to the nearest exchange. I'm buying a newbuild in Brackley, which has it's own exchange, but the FTTP comes from the Banbury exchange.

Be careful, sister in law lives in a house which she bought new 2 years ago. Sounds pretty much the same in that they are 4 houses set back from the road at right angles and have a gravel road going past them to the end house which is next door but one to her.

They have a garage which wont take the size of car they own and the garage is used for extra freezer, gardening stuff, kids bikes etc.

When they moved in they had 2 cars but they now only have one between them. However their son is now 18 and he has just bought a car. There are 4 visitor spaces to the left of their house. One is permanently taken up by a lodger who has moved into next door, another is used by the end house as a parking space for his car whilst he renovates other cars on his drive. Another is used by the son of this family. There are endless battles, out of the 4 houses only 2 of them speak to each other. The end house on the other road at right angles to them also uses the spaces whenever he has visitors which as he runs a business from home is virtually most of the day every day. Invariably when we visit we end up parking on the main road and cutting through the bushes where the gravel road is as I have never been able to get one of the 4 visitor spaces yet over a period of 2 years.
