Confused Regarding Rejection

I'm not an expert in recruitment and I don't understand the process. If I was the relevant Manager I would have offered you the job after your initial interview if I had felt you were suitable. Putting you back through the process is concerning.
For some they have to advertise even if they have someone in mind for the job. When I trained as a teacher many got jobs in there final placement school but still have to apply etc:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one:beer::beer::beer:

Some have rounded on me and perhaps I have come across incorrectly on this thread. The crux of my argument is the company already know about the OP, what is to be gained from going through this process again? That is why I don't see it as being positive.0

I think it depends onhow different the jobs are - eg a sales rep vs a sales manager - one is about selling the other is about managing targets and people - so the good performance put up in the rep interview might encourage HR to suggest you go for the manager job, but the rep interview wouldn't have asked the right questions to just give itI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

And how good do you think the OP's chances are?0 -
I should add that before being shortlisted for the original role the company called me to advise that their salary may not meet my expectations. I stated that money was not my key motivator and that going into a permanent role in a different sector was much more appealing. I wonder if this was a factor in the end?0

Nope, my interview is likely to be next week. The role looks very exciting, I just hope that it's not as you've suggested a case of me making up the numbers.
For me it doesn't look promising, you've been with them before for interview, were rejected and this process is too drawn out.0 -
