For me it doesn't look promising, you've been with them before for interview, were rejected and this process is too drawn out.

Drawn out???? I've had roles were the process took 18 months or more from application to posting. This one hasn't reached 18 days yet!

You seem also to be assuming that because they didn't simply offer OP the more senior role at the end of the interview that this is a wild goose chase. Perhaps this company have internal procedures which require them to have a selection process for every role? Quite possibly they have IiP accreditation and have written this into their manual. Who knows? It is dangerous to assume anything when we know none of the facts.

Choyaa, it sounds as if they thought you a better fit for the senior role. As mentioned before, you don't need to best the previous interview, just match the performance. If you need to tweak the responses, you should have a feel for what they may ask (considering you have just had an interview with them) and prepare your responses accordingly.

A phone call from HR and immediate shortlisting? I'm not sure why all the negativity. I'd be very confident with those pointers.

Good luck with it anyway, whatever happens.

What a morning. Interviewed at 10 am, at the start I was told it would be informal lasting no longer than 40 minutes and that they would be quite strict about this. The interview went on for almost two hours and was extremely intensive. Some questions about specifics of the company I was unable to answer but I was prodded quite a lot. At the end of the interview the third interviewer was asked if he had anymore questions for me and he said "I think Choyaa has been grilled more than enough," this broke a tense moment in which all four of us laughed quite a bit.

Overall I'm not hopeful, that was too intensive.

Sorry this happened friend, but I did warn you. Once you were rejected the first time the writing was on the wall, lesson learnt though.

I think that actually sounds very promising. I think you've got the job... Looking forward to finding out either way!

I was always cautious about this approach, I did not see it ending well.

It sounds like you have failed, not being able to answer questions is not good and the fact one of the panel ended the questions sessions early means only one thing.

Fair play for trying, you're braver than I.

This is an unusual statement to make, care to elaborate? This looks very bad from what I can see.

I get the impression that you'll be totally gutted if the OP gets the job.:(

On the contrary but it sounds really bad and the op seems to know this.

Extremely unfair, a number of members myself included expressed caution and concern on this topic and it seems we were right to do so with the poor OP crashing and burning in their interview.

Well you'll find out soon enough, but it doesn't sound negative to me at all. You really really don't spend two hours interviewing someone you're not seriously considering for a position.
