All very well but do you have Google Chrome installed on your phone? Somehow I don't believe you have.

I'm not even using Chrome on my phone and I have just managed to book two pairs of tickets using the desktop version a few minutes ago.

But let's leave Weasel_Watcher with a post count of 14 (five of which are of them moaning on here on the same topic) to rant at people like you, quoia and me who have experience and know what we're talking about. Because we "don't understand".
  • Hi there, is it a possible for someone to obtain tickets via Times + website WITHOUT joining/subscribing to the service ??

No. It's *you* who do not understand! I almost give up! I shall try one more time as best as I can....

It's working on your *tablet* because it's not a mobile phone and has a larger screen size. The screen size sniffing that the JQuery library performs recognises the device as having a larger screen than and it serves up a different tablet-friendly site. It doesn't matter that it's cheap. That is not relevant.

Tablets with a larger screen size are fine. My iPad has been fine throughout this change. It's *mobiles* that aren't. I don't know what the cut-off screen size is, because it's going to be a discrete size set by the developers that can only be determined on the outside by trial and error.

I'm glad you acknowledge that there has been a change this week. Please re-read over the posts. It's mobile device sized screens, not tablets, that they've managed to exclude.

RIGHT .... now that I have access to it .....

How about a SAMSUNG GALAXY S III (S3) MINI ?

That's a MOBILE PHONE and VERY SMALL.

FOUR INCH screen - on the diagonal

    AND IT'S FINE !!!!

Befriend someone with a sub who doesn't book the tickets. Sorry but there are no loopholes. Cheapest option is a trial sub.
  • Phenomenal movie 10/10 for me. I would have happily watched it again straight after. Brilliant ensemble cast and surprisingly humourous for an otherwise non-funny situation.

A must for Matt Damon fans.

    :T:T:T

    Arrrh:eek:
    I missed it last night.
Fingers crossed I get to a later screening....

LouFace and myself are long term, regular posters who are experiencing this problem.

    A) As far as I know I can't get Chrome on my tablet without jail breaking the device (happily I am saving for a Hudl2 and should have enough by the next Double-Up promo)

    B) There is no way to access the desktop version on my tablet and the mobile version is un-usable.

I'm really glad it's working for so many but what's so hard to understand about the fact that it just isn't for others?

And what's so hard to understand that I clearly stated that I am not using chrome on my phone?

I can't answer the tablet part, I haven't used mine.

I have an Android phone and have now managed to book three pairs of tickets using it.

It can be done. I would advise you look at the options available on your phone too.
You stated that the advice I gave was out of date. It isn't. I have proved that by booking two pairs of tickets after your comments were posted.

    And Louface found a solution.

I quoted you but was also answering another poster at the same time who said I needed to use Chrome on my tablet.

Kindle Fire tablets are very limited in terms of apps. Since I should have the Hudl2 soon it's probably not worth me bothering to try and find a solution. Maybe SFF will get it fixed. My phone is a Nokia basic end smartphone, so basic I won't even try on that lol and it's teeny tiny.

I wanted to point out that some are having problems, and just because an individual poster isn't doesn't mean they should cry "rubbish" (NOT aimed at anyone BTW).

I totally understand that people are unhappy with this recent problem. I was on a bus when I first came across it and panicked until someone advised me what to do.

Have you searched for help to find if you can view pages on desktop?

    Does this help?

Go to the Home Screen on your Kindle Fire HD and tap Web. Go to Menu > Settings to access the Silk browser settings. Tap on Requested website view and change the setting from Automatic to Desktop. Viola, you're done!
