With complicated prescriptions, even with cost saving measures, they really are more expensive.. If they were seventy for DH, he two would have a wardrobe full. Luckily he doesn't need them every singly year, but they are very, very much more than that. Sigh.
I know I'm lucky, the company I buy from goes up to -12 and I'm only -8 so I've still got a bit of room to manoeuvre.:)0 -

Sorry - I mean in an 'awwwwwww' kind of way. Poor guy!
I do feel so sorry for anyone with eye struggles.
Lol, it's ok, he isn't yellow, fluffy and cute. Well.....he's cute but......;). He's almost never helpless because those things are welded on to him practically.
But even things like DIY....I never thing about, but cue much wrapping in cling film etc from him. Many Glasses wearers do have a big extra burden of cost and are really lost without that spend which for many is a significant proportion of income. I thank our lucky stars that for us its ok.0 -
I've had glasses since i was four. My prescription is -10 and -7.5 but the optician said it would get worse, quickly. I'm now 47. I pay 15 a month for prescription contact lenses and get the cheapest glasses frames that fit my lenses - generally the national health type. I need glasses if i get up in the night. I've worn lenses for 30 years.
I'm just gratetful i was born in a time where glasses/lenses had been invented, because i can't see a bat without them!!0
