Good morning
OH snoring again.. can't get back to sleep.
The kitchen is a mess, nobody, incl me did the dishes last night. Makes me more determined to save hard for a dishwasher!!
Everyone is still in bed, I think I will put the radio on quietly and start this pile of ironing... why do I hate it so much? I keep telling myself to keep on top of it, do it every day as it comes, I do it for a few days and then let it pile up again. What do you all do?? Once a week ironing or as it appears, every day? Any tips greatly received...
Better get started before the rest of the family gets up and asking for a cooked breakfast...
Have a nice Sunday you lovely busy flyers..:grouphug:0 -
Mornin' all!
Niki - sorry to hear your news. Hope you manage to resolve it as best as you can.
Wet and grotty day here. Had planned on trip to event in local park, but as rain is forecast all day, we're going to a playcentre instead. Better empty DW and stick a load a of washing through to go on the airer, then off for a shower and get the brood into gear! OH has man flu, so I'm on my own today with the [STRIKE]screaming brats[/STRIKE] darling children
MermaidYou only get one go at life, so grab it where it hurts, shake it hard and get everything out of it you can!0 -
Very sorry to hear your news nicki, take care of yourself.
Well done on the car boot tracyg, we've got boxes and boxes of stuff to take to our next one. Fingers crossed we are as lucky as you on the money front.
Solway- those pusscats are so cute.
We spent all day in Sailsbury visiting DH's family and went to the hospital to see his dad.
At tea out as our train was cancelled and we had an hours wait.
House is a tip.
DH has done a few things off yhe new list I made the other night though which is a huge result! :T
Roast chicken with veg and yorkshires for us tonight, looking forward to it already.
Not sure what we're up to today, park at some point I expect. Ironing down to half a dozen items, but the WM is going to go on once I get up from here so that pile will grow again.
Wish I did have some helpful tips mumoftwo for getting it sorted as I don't enjoy it either. When it does get huge though I tend to separate it into mine, DS and DH things and then do DS's as they are smaller and can be done quicker and a quick result makes it more encouraging to crack on. That's the theory anyway.
Take care all and have a good day....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

im afraid i lost track mid week but being able to do 3 days was much better than doing none:D

usually do laundry bulk on sundays but am trying to move it earlier in the week so i can enjoy the weekends more with the kids. so will have to have a think on how to achieve that lolNovember NSD's - 70 -
Morning all
Solwaykid, those cats are very cute
Grey today but dry so far, one load of washing out on the line.
Vacuumed through downstairs, the kitchen floor looked like the cats had been tag wrestling all night!
Veggies prepared and dinner started.
We had to rehouse next door's cat that we have been forced to look after. We had put a cardboard box under their trampoline but the wind and rain was so bad yesterday that it got wet and started to disintegrate. So I emptied their recyling crate (only had footballs etc in) and put that stuff in a black bag and then lined the crate with newspaper and fleece (on its side) and put that under. Should stay dry hopefully. She's sleeping in it anyway and is eating well. Poor little soul.0 -
Roast chicken for us too.
Kids asked if they could make bisucuits with jam all on their own - said yes, mainly because my own Mum would have said no.
Came down - they were tidying up - took biscuits out of the oven to find one whole flat tray - they had put in a tablespoon (heaped) of baking powder rather than a teaspoon:rotfl: They are eating them none the less but you get a real bicarb aftertaste!
Off to shops and library now.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Tracyg if you can wait
HALF PRICE LISTING DAY WEDNESDAY ON EBAY!!!
Just so everyone sees that incase anyones missed it. I'm thinking of listing a few things myself. Just need a kick up the bum to get them sorted out.
Dusty you're lucky having library open on Sundays, wish ours did, well the nearest one, doesn't even open Saturdays.
Pollybear have you tried contacting the Cats Protection League see if they can help home her?
Jamiedodger, no worries think many find the hols a bit harder, unless they have angel children who do it all for them, with laundry one of the Flylady ideas is to put all darks straight into the machine (I did lights when had tiny ones in babygrows etc) then put the rest in the basket, as soon as it's full then it goes on, whites/lights done when there is enough for a load. I've now taught DS2 how to put the machine on (he loves electrical items and was in his element) it's only 2 buttons, I put the powder etc in as soon as the last loads out so he just has to switch it on if his things fill it, he did get desperate to use it last week however and kept changing his clothes so he could fill the washer! I've got back into doing this this week after loosing track a little over the hols, what a difference it makes.
Mumoftwo I hate ironing, I iron what I have to when I have to, luckily DP doesn't wear shirts too often, I only buy things that look easy to iron. Kids uniforms when they are at school I do enough for the week on a Sunday night (what needs doing most doesn't need it) I haven't ironed anything since July :rotfl:
Well breakfast been and gone, sat bidding on things on eBay for DP, I haven't even got dressed yet, took the dogs out on the field (and got wet) in my dressing gown and pjs :rotfl: noone around because it's raining.
Anyway, I'm going to get a wriggly on get washed up (water was too hot I left water heater on by accident  ) get dressedthen go and do some more sorting in the boys room I think. Might see if I can drag DP to a carboot if the rain eases off.
One day I might be more organised...........

Well, I'm up.. Hubby has taken the midgets off to church so God is getting his bothering today and I get some peace.. Quiet cuppa, chocolate muffin and some prawns sounds like a fantastic breakfast to me.. I actually think I developed bit of a bug yesterday I had a really wobbly tummy BEFORE the alcohol and went through a whole strip of rennies and 1/4 bottle of pepto bismol before it actually settled enough that I could sleep.
My mother and sister arrived safely in the Czech Republic so they are there until Friday.
Today the girls are being beaten into cleaning their room.. I am not coming back to that mess nor am I going to find their clothes to pack and wading through that junk!!
I'll have an hour in the middle room as well see if I can fill another binbag for charity shop.. it is looking so much better in there now.. the DW being rehomed has made a massive difference too.

Sending you hugs Nicki. Hope the situation goes as well as it can while you are having to live together. I am sure your DD is picking up on the atmosphere too, which I guess you know so doesnt make it any easier. But from what you write on here I think your a brill mum and am sure your daughter does too. Hope things resolve themselves soon x
Well my house looked like a bomb has gone off as I left for work this morning. Barbie storage box emptied in the hall and barbies all over the place. Girls beds unmade. Bath needs cleaning as I bathed littles this morning. Kitchen - not too bad, bin needs empting, breakfast dishes drying and putting away. Lounge is a My Little Pony minefield. Our bedroom has paperwork all over the unmade bed (thanks to DH). Oh and 2 baskets of ironing to do. Plus I have about 30 of my food budget left till the end of month - ARGHHHH!!!!!
I am sure DH will have tidied everything up when I get home, I will find a £50 note in my purse, my children will be sitting calmly colouring in and a lovely bubble bath and glass of wine will be waiting for me upon my return from work - No I dont think so either!! lol
Right off to meal plan for rest of month0
