Wow everyone has been really busy and chatty today I can't believe that we are at 130 odd posts and its only Monday.
Pigpen - your pic of your daughter made me wince that must have been very painful.
Lil_me - hope you are enjoying your new oven its lovely when you get something new and have lots of buttons to test out.
LJD1 - I have done the same when going to iron hama beads and then found it quite relaxing sitting down to mend what I had dropped that by the time I had finished it didn't seem to bad.
Today has gone well, floor is drying at the moment and once thats done I will put the table back and close down the kitchen for tonight.
Bits for tomorrow -
Tuesday Living Room (and Dining Room for me), Hall and Stairs - don't have
Level 1
Vacuum floors and sofas
Level 2
Dusting, even if around everything
[strike]Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
[/strike]
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
Level 3
Wipe light switches and banister
Clean any other glass like mirrors etc
Tidy shoes, coats and bags
Vacuum under furniture (only if you won't hurt yourself doing it, don't want any injuries)
Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –- Clear one hotspot, or just spend at least 5 minutes tackling it
- Clean windows in these rooms, or even just one
- Using the idea Shirley suggested, get yourself a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be
WM
DW
Bathroom S&S
recycling
veg bag delivery
bank
wash new school uniform & iron on name tags
check what bits of uniform still need to buy
Thats all I can think of at the moment no doubt will add to it tomorrow, away to have a bath and I think I will take my book inwith me.

Don't talk to me about hama beads though! I've spent nearly an hour remaking a giant heart that she spent ages doing. I went to iron it and dropped it. Normally i'd just say oops you'll have to do it again but she'd spent ages making it for me. It worked second time round lol! xx
I've had to do that as well in the past, they take ages to do.Had a quick wizz round fixing screws in the carpet bar things (they must have a name?)
Jill my DS was 4 at the end of Jan and starts full time in Sept, has been there part time last term. He is a cheeky monkey affectionately known as scallywag 5 (5th grandchild of my parents) If your DS is anything like mine he will love school
The Asda delivery arrived at 8pm, dumped it all on the kitchen floor and finished watching enders then put it away! DS thought it was great having the shopping delivered to the door! Just spent an hour on the phone with a work mate of DH's who I knew pretty well before last the events of last year but who has been fabulous since June last year, there whenever I have needed anything.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -

Very pleased with myself, as I got loads more done today than I expected -
2 loads of washing done and dry
S&S shower room
Gym
Put away yesterday's batch of washing
Washed kitchen floor (wasn't going to, but DD dropped a raw egg onto it!). Sorted out the grot area by the back door where everything gets dumped down on the work surface. I'm hoping that if I keep it squeaky clean and tidy for a couple of weeks OH and I will stop leaving things there!
Tidied the cupboard above this area and rationalised things a little bit.
Finally took out the worst fridge shelf and washed it. I've decided that this will be my new Monday habit - to wash the single worst shelf in the fridge. Hopefully this will mean I always have a fairly clean fridge without having to spend ages on it every two (three, four or more!) months.
Nighty night! You only get one go at life, so grab it where it hurts, shake it hard and get everything out of it you can!0 -
Can't believe its almost bedtime, where has the evening gone!
I reckon I've done not too badly today, spent a fair amount of time with the children - took them swimming, went to the library and chose books and read to them, and then did puzzles at snacktime this afternoon. But I have really shouted at them a couple of times, I think I am generally tired and on a short fuse with the end of the pregnancy approaching. Anyway they went to bed fine and with no messing about tonight so that helped.
I did a load of batch cooking over tea tonight - I've been filling my spare freecycle freezer in the garage for homecooked meals when the baby comes. So please can I just show off what I have cooked over the last month or so that is now in my freezer:
Adult portions:
8 moussaka
2 tomato pasta bake
2 fish pie
2 spaghetti bolognaise
4 chilli
8 shepherds pie
4 quorn veg caserole
6 sausage caserole
4 cheesy veg pasta bake
1 cauliflower cheese
4 cheesy quorn veg pie
Total: 45 portions
Kids:
8 fish pie
6 spaghetti bolognaise
4 quorn caserole
6 sausage caserole
4 cheesy veg pasta bake
4 quorn veg pie
Total: 32 portions
Hurray for me :j :j :j
I still want to do lasagne and make some pizza bases. I might do veggie burgers but they never work when I do them, so need to experiment a bit.
So here's my final updated list for today shortly to be followed by tomorrows to do's.
- get kids up, dressed, breakfasted

Wow, I am so impressed... and you are still doing so much, you must be nesting or are you always so "on the ball"?My hat off to you, you organised earthmother you.....

I didn't get much done at all because my hubby came home at lunchtime from work (postie) and suggested we and our son (Daughter was going to meet friends) go for a walk. I decided spending time with son and getting him out of the house was far more important as he had been so bored yesterday. We got out and picked a pound of blackberries then walked what felt like 5 miles. Had a lovely time!
Tonight I cooked a veggie curry with rice and naan and also a blackberry crumble then we sat at the (cleared and clean) kitchen table and ate up.
Son really wants to tidy his room really thoroughly (he hoards drawings and has about 25 bionicles all in pieces which need resorting with my help) but most importantly to him he wants to move his furniture around. His room is a tiny box room and at 11 years old we're going to let him have his bed under the window, now that we feel we can trust him not to stand on his bed to lean out of the window. Oh yes while I'm here, any idea how I might get rid of a black mildewy coating on the ceiling of textured paint? I'd rather not use bleach, maybe I should try squirting it with Bicarb? I don't use chemicals but I could get some ecover laundry bleach if it comes down to that.
So here is my list for today:
Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
Level One
Clean floors
Level Two
[strike]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces [/strike]
Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
[strike]Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary)[/strike]
Level Three
[strike]Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round[/strike]
Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
[strike]Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky [/strike]
Clean oven if you didn’t do it last week
Extra Mission
Choose one or more of:
- Wipe the outside of all your small appliances
- Clean out the freezer, I find the vacuum cleaner is good for getting up any crumbs in the bottom or stray peas etc. Defrost it if it needs it.
- 27 fling, a good fling to start the week, less clutter less mess, well that's the theory anyway!
- Clean any one cupboard, sort through what belongs in there, take out what doesn't and wipe before replacing

Oooh I am SO glad I don't have a TV.. I LOATHE programs like that.. 'look at me I'm lacking intelligence because I have a baby and I'm under 20, I can't think for myself aren't I good!'.. ggrrr... Makes me so mad and does nothing to dispel the myth that the greater majority of young/teenage parents are a darn site better than a whole lot of 'grown ups'... having a child young often gives the parents a goal, something to work hard for and a reason to move into higher education and progress and do well so they can provide what society dictates we should all have.. Why can people not accept that it isn't age that makes you a crap or a fabulous parent it is just who you are?? I was a damn sight better parent at 17 than my aunt at 37.. and not by my admission... and I'm not alone.. seethe seethe seethe
Apologies to those who think I am a raving loony.. but I was part of a campaign group trying to dispel these pathetic myths and some things stick!
