Hiya Ginger Girl,
Thanks for the advice about the cooker hood. Don't talk to me about hama beads though! I've spent nearly an hour remaking a giant heart that she spent ages doing. I went to iron it and dropped it. Normally i'd just say oops you'll have to do it again but she'd spent ages making it for me. It worked second time round lol! xxJanuary budget

Lil_me - the wd40 has worked a treat. I've a nice shiny cooker hood and the sad thing is i'm very excited about it. Infact, I've actually enjoyed tidying and cleaning today. I officially need to get a life! xxJanuary budget

Ok now there really is only the ironing to do. Just cooked beetroot (for the first time ever) peeled it and waiting for it to cool before I pickle it. Had my last supper so only water now, will find that tricky so it could be an early night. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

I was thinking yesterday (while cursing the non-budging screw on the freezer) how handy WD40 would be and if it works on stainless steel even more reason to get some and it smells nice..
Vaccuumed the entire livingroom, on my hands and knees mostly with the damn crevice tool. Sofa throws waiting to be washed. Spare bed stripped and on the line.. I'll get those little critters.
Had a quick wizz round fixing screws in the carpet bar things (they must have a name?) No idea why there's been loads missing. And tightend the socket in my bedroom which has been loose for 3 years. never occured to me before but I had a screw driver in my hand and I wasn't afraid to use it.
Enough for tonight I think.
Have a restful night with no worrying.
Mumoftwo, hope the back to school thing flows nicely tomorrow.
Dusty, good luck with the fast and the blood tests

Evening all. I didn't have a chance to get on here before work, as I was busy still sorting out photos from a friends hen night last weekend. Managed to get them all online so she could look at them today, I got a couple of good ones of her and her mum which really pleased her as she doesn't have any of the 2 of them.
Had a productive day so far, I've sorted out getting the mortgage transferred into my name, and when it's all going to be done by, paperwork signed and dropped off at the bank on the way home tonight. I've sorted out going to discuss the photos for a friends wedding, so I know what she wants etc.
Still total chaos in the house, probably more so, as now the dining room has been painted, everything that's in the other rooms that need stripping is getting moved into there. I'm going to work from one long list again this week.

mermaid and Penelope Penguin and anyone else I missed - thx for mop recommendations (how sad am I LOL). Have one of those in half spongy jobs, they are rubbish arent they, and look permanently grubby. The scrubby pad is what I use at present its a killer! And microfibre, hmm. Definitely worth considering!
lbnblbnb - LOL at your gran, my Mum used to tell me noone would ever want to marry me if I bit my nails well ha ha to her 2 people did and I married both of them (not at the same time obviously)
AnW - I saw in your post to becca that your DS is 4, that is so funny, when I looked at your pics from hols that could have been my son standing there, they look so alike even down to the sandals. So I wondered if he was about 4. When does he start school ? Mins starts September (he was only 4 in June but school only does 1 intake a year. He seems tiny!!)Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

Hiya
Right, i've finally finished all of today's jobs and the place is looking good again. Always starts to look fine once DH goes away for the week! Washing machine has just broken though. Not good as I can't mend it and DH isn't home till Friday....he does have some uses. This means I'll have a massive pile of washing to do on Sunday unless of course I go and smile nicely at my mum. Might just try that! xxJanuary budget

mumoftwo - yes hubby got away fine, he called last night to say he was halfway there - he is going to New Orleans for 2 days for a meeting - takes a day travel to get there as he is flying via Washington, and then I guess another full day to get back. He called from Washington airport, and he called again at lunch time though I was out and missed him. Definitely not planning to go into labour, dont worry!!!!Jan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)
