Have you tried diluted vinegar solution? This works well on my brushed stainless steel sink.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Hi
Not sure how os this is - but we were told to go for Bar Keepers Friend to clean our stainless steel cooker hood. Its a white powder in a slightly cone shaped bottle with a blue lid. I think we got it in Tescos. Hope that helps!
Just noticed - you are also waiting to iron Hama beads! Now I don't feel so bad that i didn't manage to do DD1s works of art this morning!!!0 -
Just found this poem amongst my desk clutter, and thought it was really nice, so thought I'd share it, as I know that there are a lot of people on here who may appreciate it.
Children Learn What They Live
If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to be shy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with tolerance, they learn to be patient.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with praise, they learn to appreciate.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with acceptance and friendship, they learn to find love in the world.

Love that!!!
Now feel bad that I have just screeched like a fishwife at DS for winding up DD2. Guess it's time to praise the good things they are doing!!!!0 -
Cooker now in
wohooooooooooooooo! We swiped the wire off the old one as it was £16.99 for some in Homebase, DP said sod that for a lark :rotfl: bought a £19.99 tool bag instead! We went to Instore too Pollybear, I got a fab pair of 'junk' baskets I was looking for. £2.99 in the sale. If anyones still look for paddling pools try Homebase or even cheaper and I wouldn't have thought of looking - Halfords!
sexymouse I've read that before, have a habit of sending it to people who moan about their kids being badly behaved, hopefully make them think a little.
Instruction manual on cooker with timer etc a bit baffling, I think I'll read it again later, not used to all this. Self clean is only in bottom oven
at least I kept my liner for the top one
New topic in a mo about the hob bit actually.
Pigpen blimey that is some damage the specs caused on your little DD, that must have hurt lots bless her, my sons just seem to break theirs all the time, even managed to break 'bendy' glasses. DS1 in bad mood flings them and stamps on them, just shows how bad things were at school he was going through 2 pairs a day needing fixing, hols, not a single break!!
Cleaning Stainless - I use a little WD40, told baby oil or veg oil works too
Oh and my kids are driving me nuts today, aswell as everyone elses, think I am just stressed, that brats screaming again!!!!One day I might be more organised...........

Thanks Lil-me I got mine in the Argos sale - they had lots of different ones reduced too. Pleased with mine as I got it with Nectar points so cost me zero. Using the old one as a cover to keep the water clean - very OS.
Just come back from the lottie so enjoying a cup of tea and a piece of banana and sultana loaf. Toddler group was on up there so DS3 played happily whilst I dug. Got more pots, runner beans (need to find out how to freeze some), blackberries, spinach, a few toms and beetroot.
Nearly done my list. AGA shelves soaking in the bath - I have put them on a towel in there as they scratched the enamel last time. Just the paper work and the floor to go.
Need to think about my tea, I need some blood tests in the morning and cannot eat past 8:00 tonight so want something really filling - I don't like pasta so was thinking Jacket pot and baked beans.
Right that floor will not wash itself. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

LJD1 I was going to suggest trying vinegar as well, perhaps make it into a paste with bicarb? But I like the sound of WD40, I lurve the smell of that stuff!
Sexymouse that poem is great
and a good reminder when the lil 'angels' are stressing us all out.
lil_me I would not be using the top oven if it doesn't self clean
will ne interesting to hear if a self cleaning oven cleans to fly lady standard though.
Right well we have been out to the PO with 14 ebay parcels, called to pick up the DVD recorder from repairs but it is 'somewhere' upstairs! They are going to bring it round tomorrow. Topped up mum's phone (I think!) got a voucher from the PO and topped it up at the ATM, went to see DH and take some more flowers and finally called in at the dentist to book checkup appts for us all. Managed to get in before they go back to school as well which is a result.
Better go and shuffle some of the toys into a tidier heap in the lounge before the freecycle stuff get's collected :rotfl:thank goodness I can close the hall door, just need to make sure they don't look in the window!!!!!Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang
