:rotfl: It's not as good as it sounds! DD2 was fully kitted out from the big box in the loft and DD1 only needed new blouses! Any ideas how I can stop DS from trashing shoes or glasses in the playground???? Specsavers and I are very close friends! It's amazing the number of times they can create a pair of specs from a pile of screws/bent metal and lenses!!!0
-
I have 3 that wear glasses and we've only ever had one major disaster.. DS1 knocked DD1 over then fell on top of her.. resulting in this..
AND the glasses were straightened out and fine.. though a lens had to be replaced as it had a big scratch across it!! This was a few years ago and the graze across her cheek scarred and the bruise started at the bottom of her jaw and was so swollen it wobbled when she walked.. and it happened on her birthday.. and the day we were supposed to be having a photograph done for a magazine interview.. It is pretty amazing how much hammer a pair of specs can take.
And does anyone know why my chicken in the slowcooker smells so damn fine!!!!??? I want to scoff the lot NOW!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Right, got some good old Country music blaring on the stereo, and the kids have fled outside. (bless them.)
I've got my ironing stuff out, and here we go!
WHOOHOO!!!

Afternoon all!
I want to join this thread after failing massively last time! Hope that's ok!
I have a flat that needs sorting, we have a room a la pigpen which we've been sorting out, but I've kinda neglected the rest of the place! So, this will be my awakening! I suffer from chronic fatigue (from Fibromyalgia and thyroid), so won't be able to do as wonderfully as everyone else, but I'll try!
I was working this morning, so I shall do my jobs after my afternoon nap-I'd usually hold the nap off as hate sleeping in the afternoon, but this is overwhelming!

Decided to try to keep up with this for at least this week
Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
Level One
Clean floors
Level Two
Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
[strike]Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary) [/strike]
Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky
Clean oven if you didn’t do it last week
Extra Mission
Choose one or more of:- Wipe the outside of all your small appliances
- Clean out the freezer, I find the vacuum cleaner is good for getting up any crumbs in the bottom or stray peas etc. Defrost it if it needs it.
- 27 fling, a good fling to start the week, less clutter less mess, well that's the theory anyway!
- Clean any one cupboard, sort through what belongs in there, take out what doesn't and wipe before replacing
0 - Wipe the outside of all your small appliances

Not bad for my first day back, I have spent my day (when not cleaning) taking the washing in and out it's lovely and windy but when the rain comes its very heavy and has everything soaked again.
Off to take the girls swimming now but will come back later to see what tomorrow will bring.0 -
Hello everyone!
Nice to see some new faces joining us.
Well, after all my promises this morning about doing one thing on the list and then checking back in, all I managed to accomplish this morning was to munch my way through half a pack of bourbons!Am now feeling very guilty, as I only bought them on Saturday and OH hardly touched them! I must stop buying biscuits, as a bored mouse + biscuit barrell = barrell mouse!!! :rotfl:
Haven't done any of the kitchen, but started to do a 27 fling boogiewith my desk having tracked down an offshore radio station on the net who are playing their top 500 songs, and haven't stopped til now. Am feeling pretty chuffed with the results :T , although the desk isn't completely cleared yet, and is extremely dusty! Do you think if I aim the hoover at it, it may just disappear?
I'm hoping that OH will be so bowled over by my desk that he won't notice the empty biscuit barrell! :A (Wasn't me - it was the cat, honest!)
Just realised that I haven't had any lunch yet - better go find a carrot to make up for my appalling scoffing earlier. lol

DD on her day off today so we've been shopping. I got a nice small laundry basket from Instore, it's wicker. I wanted a basket for Christmas shopping so I can just put bits and pieces in there as I go along (like Avon stuff etc). It's just the right size and shape to sit in the spare room out of the way. Looks nicer than a cardboard box. (Sorry about the C word).
And I went into Lidl because they advertised a frying pan with a lid which I have been looking for, £5.99. I get fed up of balancing a plate on the pan when I'm making bolognaise or chilli. Only trouble is I don't have room for it in the cupboard. It's just sitting on the hob at the moment. I'll have to see if I can move something round, but not today.
DD has gone up for a nap but I've got to go to work later, daren't go to sleep now! Oh and I cooked lunch and cleared up when we got back. I'll call it lunch but it was about quarter to three when we had it0 -
Hiya everyone
My two are having a PJ day today so i'm doing half an hour of playing and half an hour of tidying/cleaning. Not sure what i've left to do so come on here to find out.

Does anyone know how I can get the stainless steel over hood clean and shiny? I've tried stardrops, wipes and washing up liquid and it's still got filth on it. Makes me realise how bad I used to be, I think I've only cleaned it three times in seven years and only just noticed it today so I need to add that to my weekly clean. Any advise welcome xx
