I can login easily on my iPad but can't on my PC. I enter username, password and click login and nothing happens! Annoying.

I know some people are having problems logging in with Chrome on the new design? If it should be that then try another browser.

If not then if you can post up what you are using with browser/app version number, operating systems etc then that would help the MSE techies.

  • I've had a nightmare logging in today. In Firefox (38.0.5) on the screen where you enter your username and password the red login button isn't working - the same problem occurs with Chrome and Internet Explorer 9 (all up to date versions) - which suggests it may be a site issue. The only way I am able to login is using the Facebook entry route.

There could be many other people with the same problem but unless they email or work out the facebook login they will have no way of alerting you to the issue.

I'm not going to just finish with a http://static.moneysavingexpert.com/images/forum_smilies/angry-smiley-030.gif as frustrating as this issue presently is the tech guys do a great job of keeping this great site running that I use daily. http://static.moneysavingexpert.com/images/forum_smilies/beerchug.gif

Just tried and logged in fine with latest Firefox and Chrome.

May be a site issue, but one I'm not seeing at least.

Another issue can be security software (webshields/linkscanners etc) that interferes with what the browsers are doing in the background. Have had Kaspersky one mess with links on this site in the past, preventing them from working properly. So could be worth trying temporarily disabling those, restarting the browser, and then trying?

I've been unable to log in this morning despite numerous attempts using the red log in tab on the main MSE Forums page.

I finally was able to log in by clicking on the Log in and quick reply tab in this thread!

Surely it must be an issue with the site as others are having problems too.

    ETA: Using Firefox.

Just trying to see if I could make it happen this end. If I could on some combination, that might help narrow down the problem, either site or user side.

As I say, I've never had this issue before and it is rather strange.

I always use Firefox and it is up to date. I've not made any changes (eg Add ons etc) or anything recently, and certainly not since being logged in last night!

Possible some of the newer spam blocking measure MSE are supposed to be putting in place are seeing something about your login attempts they don't like and are blocking it? Maybe based on your location/IP or something?

More likely a more general glitch I think, because as said Chrome users were having a similar problem with the main login but not in threads a few weeks ago. Fix for that could have broken something else. Perhaps.

    Very odd though.....
