So, quite a lot of peeps now getting ready for the challenge. I did the first olympic challenge this year and thoroughly enjoyed it - making over £4000 but then felt I needed a break from challenges! However, I am quite surprised at how much I am looking forward to this one!

    Good luck everyone x

Right this will be my first challenge on the DFW, I am going for the Bronze £500 anything over that then will be a bonus for Xmas.

Looking forward to it now, getting ready with my Cashback clicking (got my routine setup and raring to go) will raid house on the weekend for anything and everything which is not nailed down to go on ebay. Looking also to car boot on the 26th so that will be added. :T Will also start looking for part time weekend work and entering comps

    Good Luck everyone:money:

Looking forward to this too! I'm usually pretty useless at saving so it's not going to be easy, but my plan is to include:
    1. eBay/ Greenmetropolis sales
    2. Quidco etc and surveys earnings
    3. Overtime at work (very rare) and extra job if I can find one!
    4. Change jar which will be mostly coppers, and anything left at the end of the week from weekly unnecessary budget, and at the end of the month from my grocery budget.

    Good luck!!

Right I'm in on a Gold Plus target of £1500. The other bits described above i'll just sell.

But today, I made £35 on quidco & £12.99 from tacking something back that I bought a few weeks ago & don't need. On my rules, the £35 counts but the £12.99 doesn't.

Been doing (free) Quidco things this morning, checking my balances on various sites and just counted my change jar so here's a rundown of my starting point so I know where I stand! Some of these cashback/ survey sites I'm not sure I'll ever reach the minimum amount to get any money, but I'll try my hardest - having a list will help so I actually remember to do them all, as a few of these I haven't looked at in a while and I'm actually stunned how much I've managed to gather up and not notice, there's probably others I've forgotten I've joined as well :o My plan is that when I receive 'actual' money from any of these it'll go straight to my savings account. Sorry for the long list!!

    eBay/ Greenmetropolis/ other sales - £0
    Quidco - £14.47
    Mrmoneyback - £4.07 (pays at £20 min)
    Ciao - £4.55 (pays at £5 min)
    Mutualpoints - £0 (pays £20 for 3000 points, currently have 479)
    Pureprofile - £11.15 (pays at £25 min)
Home of Research - £2 (pays at £20 min)
    Itsyourview - £9 (pays at £50 min)
    Yougov - £45.75 (pays at £50 min)
Lightspeed - £0 (have 175 points, saving up to redeem for cash via Paypal)
    Overtime at work - £0
Extra job - still looking! £0
Change jar - 92p (must stop raiding for bus fares)
    Running total - £89.93
Amount to savings a/c so far - £0
Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012.

  • Hiya guys!

I will miss the start of this challenge as I am away, but wanted to say good luck to us all, hope we are all ready and raring to go on 20th!! For my plan of attack I am going to do the following:

~ Quidco like mad - current balance is £24 and car insurance is up for renewal during this challenge so I will be able to switch and hopefully get cash back.

~ Put some bits on Ebay - TBH I have nearly run out of things, but if I made £50 from Ebay during this challenge I would be made up :D

~ Save as much of my weekly budget as possibly: I give myself £20 'spends' a week, and anything I don't spend will go straight into the pot.

My overall aim is to save £500 - I will be putting it into an account that I never use to keep track of it separately from my current account.

Good luck again to everyone, lets get money saving/making!! xx

EDIT: Just wanted to add, for all those who Quidco, Whiskas offer £1.45 for requesting a free kitten food pack from them. Just noticed this now! Hope this helps x

Ok I am starting on Monday and I will be using the following methods to raise money:
    * Ebay - minus fees of course
    * Rpoints - only cleared transactions
    * Survey sites that pay in cash
    * Saving all coinage 10p and smaller in large whiskey bottle
    * Mortgage Pig - eats £1 and £2 coins only

All of the above will be counted up at the end of the challenge and I hope, and pray, that there will be at least £1,000 and I will then phone and pay the full amount off our mortgage to help with the MFiT challenge I am also taking part in! :D
