Can I join in please, watched the other challenges and got really inspired and started to do quidco put some stuff on amazon and sold some:rotfl:

Would like to be more organised this time. Would like to go for the 750 but dont know if i'll manage it. i already have a christmas saver wirh skipton which i put all my coins in, would i be able to count the interest towards the challenge (pays out in november) and have a part time job but should be due some holiday pay from that this month and sept so can put that in too. Also can maybe get an extra shift or 2 at work due to holidays.

Already saving loose change to put into xmas saver but will count that too, have 5 pences in a seperate jar to count at end of challenge at the minute i save all except save all except 50p and £1.00 but will start putting 50's into the pot too.

Thanks for all the ideas given so far

Have a 280.00 debt on tescos card (0%) to clear by beginning november so if i use savings to pay this off can i still count them? also have 300 on 0% to pay by january so hope to clear this one too

    Hi Dawnylou

Greenmetropolis is an online way of buying and selling books. All books are sold for £3.50, of which you recieve £3.00. Out of this you have to pay the postage and package, so how much you make depends on the postage costs. It is really easy to list and text books seem to sell really quickly. Paperback fiction, however, take forever (I have had some listed for about 5 months). I beleive there is a sort of cueing system so I am hoping some start to sell soon. I think the books stay listed until they are sold. Also people can list books that they are looking for, so it is worth looking at this to see if you have anything that is 'wanted'. Hope this all makes sense.

I'm a newbie DFW with some questions...

If I do this challenge, Can I count the following:

    1) Profit from sale of car, value - loan (£1kish)
    2) Sale of huge fish tank (£2kish)
    3) Electric bill savings, fish tank uses approx £50pm
    4) Sale of 2 bicycles (£700)
    5) Profit from no car (£500pm)
    6) Sale of 8 desks I acquired Free Of Charge (£400)

can I go for 6 golds in 4 months!? Just trying to clarify or stretch the rules!

Hi, I dont think anyones going to mind you counting these sales and savings as the idea is to raise as much money as possible either for to pay for Xmas or make a dent in the debts. As you have quite a few items to sell why dont you set yourself your own target for the challenge. 6K Looks reasonable to me ;)

Its my belief that this challenge is more about opening your mind to new ways of doing things and to bring about a change in the mindset when dealing with money. Set yourself a realistic target for yourself as otherwise you will not take it seriously and will get bored/frustrated at the progress and will give it. I know from experience on here how addictive it is once you start saving and seriously tackle your debt.

Unless the others have major objections ... Welcome on board :T
