Waitrose is 15% and 25% off John Lewis plus the bonus of at least 10%. It makes my pay decent for the job I'm doing.

But shopping at tea on or as da is still cheaper than shopping at waitrose with the 15% discount?

Sainsburys don't get 15%. It's 10% but twice a year they will give you 15% off when they do the 25% off clothing.

With the amount of people who apply for the roles at supermarkets, your wife might not be so choosy as to who she works for.

My friends work for them. Staff discount is 10% normally. It's 15% for about a quarter of the year. Whole of December plus a couple of days in Nov and Jan. Plus two weeks at Easter, in the summer, when they get their bonus in May. Plus the odd week here and there. For example, when the Paralympics were on, there was 15%.discount. My friends get a statement each year about their wage, o/t etc. It mentions how much they saved in staff discount. One was £330 as she lives alone. The other was £570 and she has a DH and DS. Buying food, clothes, console games and medium cost electrical items like microwave

Each supermarket is different. Plus you may not be able to work hours to suit you. For example, all new jobs, you are expected to work a day in the weekend or start at 6am or finish at 10pm.

If you look back to the actual post, it's clearly Sainsburys.
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
  • Sounds like Sainsburys is the best to work for, if tesco has that cap on how much discount you can spend and the big S doesnt.

I can only speak for Sainsbury's ~ as other posters have said it's 10% with occasional 15% etc.
However, you need to have completed 12 weeks probationary period OR possibly 6 months employment before becoming eligible. I will try to check for you.

Just checked ~ it is after 6 months.

I know. I work for them. We've never had 15% for the whole of December - its usually just after Xmas, into the new year. Again, same at Easter. At most it's a week, never two or a whole month.

I'm actually going to work for Tesco at the end of the month - better money and incentives.
