That's such a wee shame for your wee 6r. They're just little at that age. That teacher sounds really good though. We went for a drive last night (I don't use the car much during the week so I like to give it a run to keep it ticking over) just down the coast and back but I asked her if she wanted to go with me. She said yes (she has been studying a lot recently and I thought it would be good for her to have a break even though the exam is today, after her wee breakdown earlier in the evening) and I think she really enjoyed it. She took a picture of the sunset which was a pretty pink colour with some nice clouds and the sun like a pink ball of fire. We had our usual laughs (we are quite close as I have brought her up myself) and I just hope it relaxed her, although she was a bit tense again this morning. I'll find out in a wee while how she got on.
I'm sure she will do amazing, she sounds sensible and definitely has a good mum to cheer her on and pick her up x Hope she feels happier tonight0 -

Well she said it wasn't as bad as she expected. She says she did her best so what will be will be. I'm so proud of her regardless. She is a lovely kid who is not such a kid anymore.

I don't know if this helps but my nephew struggled at school. He had dyslexia and it wasn't recognised as a problem at that time. In fact, one of his teachers said it was an excuse for children who were stupid. I know. Why was someone like that a teacher? Anyway, my sister in law persevered and now many, many years later he has a really well paid, responsible job, a lovely house in a really nice area and a lovely family. He worked hard and got a degree but not everyone is academic. Too much emphasis is put on exams (in my opinion). I'm sure she'll do very well with your support and encouragement.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0

Just read through your diary. What a fantastic achievement getting the loan down so much in just 20 months or so.

Hi Toni'sfriend. Thank you for your message. LMG also has dyslexia, although we were told it is a mild case. She gets extra time and she gets to use a computer so they do try to help but if they could assess her as she goes along instead of a final exam she would do so much better. She is not academic and I agree with you, there is too much emphasis put on exams. It's great to hear of other people's successes though, thank you. She has no idea what she wants to do when she leaves school so she's just sticking it out for now and doing her best. She loves her wee part time job and has even said when she does come to leave school she might work there full time for a bit until she makes further decisions.
Hi Honeysucklelou2. Thank you very much. It has been a hard slog getting this loan down. I'm forever moaning about it. We are not in poverty by any manner of means (been there done that) but it's still tough when I'm sending all I can to reduce it. It will be totally worth it but sometimes I just feel miserable. It was a 5 year loan originally so I'm delighted that I have paid off over half in just two years. I am very determined though
In financial news:
Dropped some odd change into my piggy bank.
Waiting for a £5 voucher for Mr M's. I should get it this week so that will help towards next week's groceries.
Payday is Tuesday 30th this month. I am due 3 days' holiday for this year so that's a nice wee bonus.

Another couple of wee stories:
When my son was at school one of his friends (a lovely boy but not at all academic) hated school and left the day after his 16th birthday. Now has his own business (electrician), has travelled extensively and has a lovely family and home.
Boy next door (again not academic) got a part time job in one of our largest supermarket chains and now manages one of their big stores.
Moral of the stories - whilst they can be important success in exams is not always necessary to be successful
Good luck her. I'm sure she'll do very well.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0
