Hello, just catching up, I've been busy being excited at being a granny for the first time - we've got a beautiful wee boy in the family so it's been an exciting week here :-)
Good luck with starting your new job. Looking forward to your post re how everything goes for you.

Congratulations on becoming a granny Primula!! Lovely news
I love babies
We went to Glasgow with my sis for a wee shopping trip on Monday and stayed overnight. Back yesterday. We did have a good time but I found myself to be quite stressed most of time. I'm not a stressy person so it wasn't a good feelingI think it must be the new job playing on my mind. I'm not worried about it but it must be affecting me subconsciously.
I have had to do a fair bit of juggling with the accounts but everything is managing to balance now. It's going to be a bit tight this month but I will just have to be creative with the meal plan. I really hope my new colleagues don't go out for lunch every day!!
Nothing to pot and nothing to the loan. I am clinging on to every penny. Until Tuesday, of course, when the £5 account reward comes in and I pay it off the loan, then moan half way through the month that we have no food :rotfl:

I managed to pot 5p in coppers to the sealed pot yesterday and I have 1p to go in when I get home today.
Came in £9.11 under grocery budget yesterday :j I even remembered milk!! LMG and I had a big chat (well actually, I talked, she said "Mmmhmm" in all the right places) and I explained, yet again, about the whole budget thing. I know she gets it but she sometimes chooses to ignore it. I think I really got through to her yesterday though as when I asked her to choose a juice that she wanted, she said she didn't want it after all (just to clarify, we have juice, as well as water in the tap, it was just an extra she had asked for last week and I said no). I told her not to worry about things as we can afford food and we won't have to go back to sharing a packet of 8p noodles for our tea again (although I think they are about 25p now) we just can't have ALL treats in the basket. She laughed and said that she wouldn't mind having the noodles as she likes them so we had a good laugh about that :rotfl: Later she was being a bit thoughtful and then out of the blue said how she didn't ever remember any bad stuff, only good stuff. I now feel guilty for effectively guilt tripping her into sticking to the budget. I always feel guilty about something.
Anyway, I made potato & leek soup last night (meant to make it last week but didn't get round to itluckily the veggies were only a wee bit soft) so I have some for my lunch today and I am really looking forward to it! If LMG doesn't eat the rest today (I don't mind if she does) I will bring it tomorrow too. If she does eat it, I found a portion of homemade lasagne in the freezer from a couple of months back that I forgot about so I will bring that. That's lunch sorted for the rest of this week.
I keep thinking it's Friday today though

Morning hon
It's always hard to work out what the little ones can and can't remember isn't it. I had a chat with Littley the other day and she'd somehow managed to remember an event in quite the wrong way to what actually happened and had been feeling bad about it for over a year or so. When I sat her down and explained what had actually happened she looked so relieved. Nowt so strange as a child's mind!
Hope the soup was nicexx

Hi
Yes, it's funny how their wee minds work. Even I remember stuff from childhood that my mum says didn't happen (it did!!) or did happen (didn't!) trouble is, I was proved wrong when I thought that something didn't happen when it did. She has photographic evidence. Now everyone thinks I'm always wrong
The soup was amazing! LMG didn't eat it yesterday so I have it today
Nothing to pot or off loan today. Still clinging to change in purse.
I need to get a bus pass before Monday. I have the money ready.
Tried to call the tax credit office yesterday but they told me I have to have started my new job before they will take details. Nippy.
Just clearing up my desk at work ready for 5pm, when I will be unemployed until 9am on Monday morning!
That's it really. Have a great weekend all.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
