Just read your link mrsp1987 - Seems to be "non" reputable companies that use this method type of payment.

So, I expect anyone buying from "Currys" would not expect them to use this "method" - a warning for anyone who has bought from them to check.
Currys - bought chromebook - insurance £4.50/month - recurring payment  although in their defence, I took my chromebook back as keys were not functioning properly, they told me it was a manufacturing design fault and that they would not repair. Said I could go pick another to replace it. :) So glad I have insurance, just not the way they tricked me as how to pay it :(

Perhaps it is worth speaking to Currys?

Also, if the computer is less than a year old, you don't need insurance as it has a manufacturers warranty. :)
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

Not many people are aware CPAs even exist. I remember my mum telling me about them for the first time and I had no idea.
It does seem to be not so reputable companies doing this but Curry5 is owned by PC W0rld and they do not have a good reputation for customer service and fairness. At least they didn't a few years back - one of the reasons I don't use them

    Happy Monday All

Listing on the bay yesterday, but somehow didn't get much listed. Going to try again today.

2 parcels to be posted - all helps declutter and reduce mortgage.

Completed more that wasn't on my list, than there was. (If that makes sense)

  • I think I'm going to attempt my first ebay in years. Well done on the surprise money :D

I was stung by that transaction a few years ago, I bought face cream off the internet, They set me up for a regular supply (of rubbish half empty jar) and a hefty monthly bill. I can't remember exactly but was around £30 odd mark. Awful

Good for you, you can only try. I find The bay is a phaff :( and I still have to work out a short cut to list :( but needs must, both decluttering and ££ - all helps as I don't seem to be making extra ££ elsewhere, although I do try.

Must admit they did stick to the agreed amount, and I never had any problem, but just as well when switching my account I didn't count on that being a d/d  No wonder they tell you to use a c/c when buying items, that way you have insurance/protection.

I had a run in with cpa's last year, bank allowed it despite cancelling with the company and the bank............took a month of argueing and Spanish bank lying about when I rang to get the money back :eek: I did trip them up because I had a phone record of when I called :D:D:D

I now refuse this method in ALL cases :D:D:D

Well I now know about them, but for anyone who doesn't and the company or bank don't play ball, then all you have to do is switch banks :rotfl: then payment will be declined to company (as I found out accidentally) :rotfl:
