  • Another exhausting day at work, rushing about, and tomorrow is even worse, with only 8 (if everyone turns up) out of 18 in work  as the rest have days off, a/l or sick.

    O/p'd another £156.91 taking my o/ps this month to over £500 :)

Only around 1 week to go (can't remember if its the Thursday or Friday) we get paid :o not that it makes that much difference :j

Girl in work who is off sick popped in today, and she is looking and feeling good, starting her chemo
    in the NY.

    Ooh! One week to go!

Sorry you have another busy day

    Bexster :)
  • Countdown begins . . . :D

Work more pressure & busy & very stressful. Was going to say lets hope not busy, but that will be a no, no. :(

  • Work today was actually a surprising Ok, but with the weather heading this way, could change dramatically.

Have updated my signature, thought it was about time, as don't have much left (time, that is) I can't quite believe it. Is this really happening?
and am still humming and haw-ing about the date - I'm down to the choice of 2 - a birthday(21st) or anniversary of the day I moved in (24th).
Over on another diary it has finally dawned on me the (great ) achievement I have made in such a short space of time, especially on what I earn. Just shows what focus and determination can do when you stick with it.

That post has made me finally realise, I am actually at a loss for words.

Lol! The pauper that is AFK!

As I did mine alone too, I was nowhere near the median household income ( though for a time I was doing very well thanks for one person). I must say, I find it amazing how people struggle on that sort of money, but there you go!

Have you named the day yet?....

    Is the 21st your birthday?

Hope you have a fun weekend planned

    Bexster :)
  • Yes, Bexster, just think what we could have done with that kind of money :D Would we have needed a mortgage at all ? :) (slight exaggeration there)

I often found myself thinking I was probably the lowest paid according to o/p figures that were popping up, like - oh, that's x months salary for me, wow.

Some months (ok, a couple) I found I had o/p more than my month's salary, how on earth, just being careful and little extras eb@ying, surveys, my knotty knots, etc - they really do all add up.

21st is my mum's birthday, and feel now I am dragging my feet a bit, plus I am a hoarder :rotfl:
    told you all so.

Very busy weekend, with a visit to relative who has just had a baby (lives a good distance away), and tomorrow out at a concert and then on for something to eat, as friends treating my mum for her birthday.

Hope you have a lovely weekend. :)

  • Either date works then! What an awesome Christmas present - my favourite gifts are always the ones I get myself!!:rotfl:

Have a fab weekend. Have a bit mire work this morning, then out for lunch tomorrow, then quiz night tomorrow night

I must say, I find it amazing how people struggle on that sort of money, but there you go!

A couple of kids, an outsized mortgage on a property anywhere with a "good" school and a safe car? I find it more amazing that people find it amazing, IYSWIM... There's a reason "the squeezed middle" was coined as a phrase. It's not all iPhones and foreign travel making us skint :rotfl:

In-work poverty is pervasive in the UK

Ps. Comments not intended as being about my family, we cope reasonably well on just about median wages, but it's not a bed of roses at times. More like carnations, or something else affordable :D
