Hope that you had a better Sunday. We were able to get the washing out bright and early before settling down to watching the F1 on C4. Was a lovely sunny day down here in the south.

Am also looking into switching but as i get confused very quickly with which figure to use. I'll work it out somehow...am sure there will be something on this website, as i am a member of MSECEC.

Weekend had its ups and downs - studying plodding on, DH in a tizz over lots of little things (its all linked with his condition, so not a lot that we can do about it).

I am just waiting for my annual mortgage statement to come in, so i can work out how much i need to pay over the course of the forth coming year.

My next two big things to sort out, apart from exams is pensions and investments for retirement (which is a long time away) and talking to the council regarding my neighour building over their boundary line.

    Hi SIL

Sunday was better, although spendy :o and after the fog cleared was a lovely sunny day here too. Going to have another look at the deals available and might just go for it. Sometimes I overthink too much.

Hope everything is ok with your annual statement, I like to look it over and see just where I was this time last year, but won't get mine till Feb next year, and good luck with your studying (will all be worth it :D ), pensions and investments, go with what you are happy with, I certainly didn't take any chances, (would rather keep my money than lose it).

 Your neighbours have overstepped the boundry mark. Heard of a story where someone had built their conservatory 2 or 3 inches over their boundry. Had to be taken down in the end. Think I may hear of another saga coming on.

Although scores on the doors not in yet, interested added, mortgage not been taken off yet, but done some mental (ok, calculator) sums and came to the conclusion I needed to o/p £30.26 this month to have 00.00 at the end of my mortgage. Paid:)

Off to switch utilities as offer finishes tonight. Homework begins.

Hi everyone, in a sorry state with everything, so feeling rather glum.

Spent over 1 hour last night on the phone to mortgage company, figures were completely haywire once again, and all they could tell me was my final mortgage figure with erc included. Tried to explain that my payment was still not off my mortgage and my extra o/p - nowhere to be seen. Logged on this morning and figures somewhat better but o/p differs what I paid to the entry in mortgage account. Please explain.

On a better note managed to switch utilities for my mum and in doing so, used my account which meant I couldn't use it for myself. Also switched broadband and phone tonight, not sure if I have to tell sky I'm leaving or they do.
Knowing my luck will probably end up paying twice for the same month.

Headache now full blown as phoned "saga" again, this time.
    • I was told they were too busy to phone me back !!
    • they would get to me in time, asked how long, don't know was the reply. Not acceptable, said I.
    • "You said this has been going on since May, so what's the urgency now?" !*x*!!?
    • Steam coming out my ears by now, red faced, BP through the roof and headache started.
    • Asked, If you were to pay someone to do work, and they don't, would you pay?
    • She said, the factor fees are not for organising repairs, so I asked what it was for?
    • Not for organising repairs, she said.
    • So Saga to be continued. Anybody know any good lawyers.
I have never known the like.

To top it all off, I had some items sidelined for the b@y "on hold" took my eye off the ball with everything else going on, and they all listed, I wouldn't mind, but 1 item sold - and the bag it's in, is in the loft.

Thanks, will feel better once I've been in loft, (I hope) as that is where the damage that Saga is meant to be repairing.

Need to calm down, know my BP is way up there, so going to get any early night, I hope.

  • Concur...big hugs afk.

Is there not an ombudsman that you can talk to to help get it resolve? I know some of the rules are different in Scotland, but surely not by much?

Right, finish dinner & then stop procrastinating and do some study.

Try and have a good eve and a drink!

    Hello AFK

I can't explain OP difference between what you paid in and what it shows. I would go into branch. Never had same issue with Halifax.

Not sure why going in loft will improve your mood, but hope it did!

Will be back tonight to attempt to cheer you up.

    Have a good day

PS I would let sky know. It's usually 30 days notice, but if you call today, that can start now.

    Bexster :)

Thanks everyone, trying to keep calm about it all, but still slightly worrying.

As for loft - I just meant I was so, so tired, that I just didn't have enough energy, and not quite ready to face any more damage/problems. Actually left venturing up there until this morning, and as luck would have it, no more damage spotted and found item I was looking for in about 5 secs flat.

Another bonus, is work is the Q word at the moment, which I can't quite believe, but not complaining.

Switched to bt from sky and in a moment of madness managed to order bt tv and sport as well, whatever for ? I don't normally watch that much sport, but was a good deal. Bexster - read bt's switch policy and mentions they would inform sky. Thanks anyway.

Outcome from phone call to saga yesterday was that someone came out and spoke to my neighbour (they have never heard of communication and telephone) didn't tell me they were coming - too busy - remember, to phone me back. Should know what is happening by the end of next week, so a nail biting week, for me.

And think I may have worked out the H@lif@x conundrum. I have mortgage account plus 2 sub accounts, and I can o/p 10% on mortgage and sub account 01, so I may have just reached my limit on mortgage and they have started taking o/p off sub account 01 now. Still have to do calculations though. Messes up my 00.00 legacy, so will need to switch the 00.00 to sub account 01.

Makes sense. when we were overpaying sub accounts bank attributed the money in somewhat haphazard style for a while!
