"Later this year" http://www.tsb.co.uk/apple-pay/. I am pretty sure their recently introduced 5% cashback offer for contactless is an attempt to gloss over the absence of ApplePay, and to stem a mass-exodus of disenchanted customers.

I suppose TSB have a similar issue as Barclays and ASDA have, in that they / their parent are faffing about with their own solution to payments with mobiles.
You can always get a different/additional current account with one of the providers that don't have the same issues.

can anyone recall the timeframe TSB used when it came to apple pay ?

Its my main bank account and they seem to be behind all the competitors other than barclays which prefers its own version.

December 5th was mentioned somewhere, I can't find the report again, but someone found that the TSB T&Cs are changing on Dec 4th and the new T&Cs reference ApplePay in them.

very late to the party if it is december 5th but perhaps colsten is correct and they are doing it half heartedly rather than quickly accepting apple pay.

I already have several debit cards that i could use with apple pay but as TSB is my main bank that would mean transfering money just to use it. I'll wait it out thanks for the responses.

As I've previously stated, I don't see the big attraction but do you really think that there will be loads of customers deserting non-ApplePay compliant banks? How many ApplePay able devices in the UK and how many of them consider it so desirable that they'd happily move bank?

I've seen a fair few signs in shops that it's accepted in various shops but I'm yet to see one used (other than me for a couple of days on TfL).

I'm quite tired after a long day and this post looks a bit on the confrontational side. They're supposed to be genuine questions but I don't have the mental dexterity to re-word it now.

I am sure that in the not too distant future the majority of bank customers won't touch a bank that doesn't offer payment with mobiles. The growth of contactless payments in the UK is relentless - for example, £2.5 billion was spent on contactless cards and devices in just the first half of 2015, compared to £2.32 billion for the whole of 2014. There are more than 69 million contactless payment cards in circulation. More than 9.3 million contactless payment cards were issued to consumers between January and June 2015. Contactless payments were £287m in January this year, and £567m in June - literally doubled in a mere 6 months.

There is no reason to believe that this sort of growth will stop anytime soon.

In addition, fraud on contactless is 10 times less than it is on 'normal' cards. With Apple Pay (or similar), fraud will become even less of an issue. This isn't just excellent news for the consumer but also for banks. The only losers will be the fraudsters - hooray.

Apple Pay is accepted anywhere that accepts contactless, and there are now literally millions of contactless terminals installed in the UK. Those who want to pay contactless know how to spot a contactless pay point......

There will naturally always (or for a very long time from now) be people who won't touch a smartphone, let alone consider paying with it. But they will before long be in an ever decreasing minority, and they will certainly not stop the mobile payment juggernaut.

    Can anyone advise?

I've got Iphone 6, and trying to set up a card on Apple pay, but it keeps saying I have to have a passcode.

Now, I don't have a problem with having a passcode or fingerprint when I go on Apple pay, but I don't want to have to put in a passcode every time I activate the screen.
Is there a way around this?

Yes. You don't have to put in a passcode every time you activate the screen. When you press the home button in order to activate the screen, after you release the home button, leave your finger on the button for a second more, and your iPhone will read your fingerprint and unlock. No need to enter a passcode.

I just turned the passcode thing on again but the finger thing you mention didn't work, it just asked for the passcode again. How do I stop having to type in the code every time I turn the screen on?
