Making money from weather forecasting?

If I have a system which enables me to predict periods of good clear sunny weather, well ahead of time (before weather forecasts are available), UK only, with a reasonable level of accuracy, how can I profit from that knowledge?

I thought about looking for power gen. firms which primarily generate with solar panels - but I can't find any that do.

I briefly thought about ice-cream manufacturers but that would limit me to summer only and they're probably doing generally well in summer anyway.

I need something that the price of which will spike if there's sunny weather or even forecast sunny weather but which I can buy into ahead of time.

Any bright ideas?

Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.

Maybe you should think about selling your methods to all those meteorological institutes who invest millions and yet fail to do what you can?

For real? Do you think sales of solar panels go up when it's sunny and that the share price instantly moves to reflect this. Oh dear
Left is never right but I always am.

No but I'm sure retailers would pay good money for a system that guaranteed them to know the weather in advance so they can stock the relevant levels of BBQ good etc.

I somehow suspect the OP doesn't have such a system.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

I think the global price of oil will inevitably rise in the longer term.

If your weather prediction system is as good as your oil price forecast, you could have a slight problem at your hands.

Make sure you are near a beach on those days. Pack a BBQ and a few cold beers. Kick back.

I suspect you might just miss the end of a period of clear skies at that time. But you might be lucky and catch the end of it, or more.

That's not what I meant. I meant companies that make and sell power generated by solar panels - not companies that make and sell panels.

I definitely said "in the longer term". I suppose it depends on your definition of 'longer term' but mine is considerably longer than 2 years. Having said that, I'm better at weather forecasting than I am at oil price forecasting. I just figured that there'd be a reduction in the number of domestic and commercial vehicles directly using oil in the coming decades, and hence a scale down of production of oil - but still a demand for oil for higher value product manufacture and legacy machinery, for which the oil producers can charge more while also spending more on accessing more difficult to access sources.
