Good afternoon am feeling sad but very proud of my DS...he has just rang me to say he sat with a young man who obviously wanted to end his life until he slipped away:AMy DS is aHGV driver and was coming along the Motorway and saw a guy laying on the ground with a couple of people beside him so he pulled over to see if he could help and could see he was fading fast so he knelt beside him and held his hand till he went and said"Mum I hope there will be someone around to hold my hand when the time comes":AThe young man had cut his wrist and then jumped of a bridge onto the Motorway.I was worried about my DS but he said he is okay.
I apologise for the way I have offloaded this on the thread but it was such an unexpected phone call.

Oh Nanny, what a lovely caring DS you have. :A:A
It is so hard to watch someone, even a stranger, pass away. Doubly hard when it is someone young, with their life ahead of them. Poor chap must have been so despairing to do such a thing.
Please make sure your DS talks about it, in detail, to someone. Not only the facts, but how he felt/feels. Talking it out can prevent problems.
Sending you a big hug hun, must have been upsetting to hear something like that.

Sad news Nanny...but what a good deed for your DS to do...many probably drove past but he clearly had the compassion to stop...and whilst the ending was not a good one at least the guy was not alone.

A compassionate and brave one you've raised there....

Your DS is so lucky to have you to share that with, it's so sad the young man who took his life possibly didn't have or felt that he couldn't share how he was feeling. :(

Such a sad story.......and no apology please you needed to share it too. :A

What a lovely thing for your DS to have done. So sad that the other young man had to go, but at least he wasn't alone. I had to reach for a tissue when I read your post. Hope your DS will be ok xx
