Have you thought about a VW Polo Tinyshoes? Not British I know, but not particularly expensive for parts, economical to run and hold their value well. We have a seven year old one and find it great for both short and long journeys. DH previously had a Golf, which was also good but not so cheap for insurance etc. He loved it though.

Is it wrong to just want a crispy cream doughnut?

I've come home early, I thought I would do some housework ...... which is very rare (both coming home early and doing housework!) only to have DS3 arrive a few minutes later with his sick girlfriend (puking) and her dog. The girlfriend is upstairs, and the dog is such a nervous animal it cannot be left alone ..... no housework for me!

Coincidence just been looking online to see what sort of prices they are along with other Corsas and Golfs.

I won't get any help from Mr TS it will be my decision. He's never bought a car in his life. :o He leaves those things to me.

Oh tell a lie he bought a mates old Citroen for £25 with no MOT etc and mushrooms growing in the boot. And green algae growing around all the windows. At the time turned out to be a bargain when we needed a second car urgently as only cost us £300 to get it on the road. It last a few years until the back axle fell out. :rotfl:
